• Where’s the Large-Screen iPhone?

Posted on August 26th, 2013 Webber | No comments

    What's Next?

The new iPhone will be unveiled on the 4th of September. How I wish it would be the large-screen iPhone, I have dreamed of owning a large-screen for years ever since I bought the iPhone 4. iOS is excellent, the appearance design of iPhone is wonderful, if the screen of iPhone can be larger, it will be perfect. I believe that most of the iPhone users will have the same opinion with me.

Where’s the large-screen iPhone? It appears that the iPhone 5S will be another 4-inch screen iDevice. No!

I have been waited for a larger-screen iPhone for so long, but all hopes came into a pile of ashes. I have got the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. The 3.5-inch screen iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S are too small to handle, so is the 4-inch screen iPhone 5. I’m jealous that the Samsung Galaxy S4 users can enjoy a movie on the metro, because I can barely see the captions of the video on my iPhone 5. Well, I can choose iPad for watching videos transferred from my computer, but this 9.7-inch “big guy” is too heavy to carry on the metro with one hand.

I do hope Apple can release a large-screen phone or phablet. I like iOS, and I think this operating system is excellent. But with a small iPhone, I don’t think this operating system can be made full use of. When the rumors of iPhone 6 came out months ago, I was excited because the rumors said that Apple was testing larger screen for iPhone and iPad, and I was looking forward to see the larger-screen iPhone being released. However, the iPhone 5S comes out, alongside with the iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5S is still 4 inches, as far as I know, the iPhone 5S only updates the iOS and the CPU, no hardware changes on this new iPhone. Meanwhile, Apple says the large-screen iPhone may come next year, but it is hard to believe. Next year, iPhone may unveil the iPhone 5C for the emerging market, and even a larger iPad a 13-inch screen, still no large-screen iPhone.

I do think Apple make this upside down. To my thinking, the iPad should reduce the bezels to the size just like the iPad mini. A tablet with 7-inch screen is perfect, it will be handful and convenient to take with. If iPad mini has the Retina Display, it would be terrific. However, Apple just does the opposite, no smaller iPad, no larger iPhone. Is Apple too arrogant of itself? Apple carries on a strategy which is against the present mainstream of the smartphone market. Couple of days ago, the ReadWrite posted an article, “Apple Needs a Road Map, Again”, I definitely agree with some of the opinions in this post. Apple is now in the “Zombie Mode”, if it cannot adjust itself to the market, it will fall sometime. The iPhone 5S is yet not to say will be good enough to win the market back, and Samsung will unveil new products after the unveiling of iPhone 5S. So even if iPhone 5S is like iPhone 5 and has more new functions, Samsung has multiple devices to against it.

iPhone 5 Vs Samsung Galaxy S4

Why am I talking about the iPhone 5S so much? Because I am a little disappointed that Apple is on a way which will let go many users of Apple products. They will pay less to get even or more functional Android devices. Actually the larger-screen iPhone is just a common expectation, and if Apple can release this large-screen iPhone, it will call back many consumers. After all, iOS and the extraordinary design of the iPhone appearance are really attractive to customers. Apple should not addict itself to the success of iPad and ignore the development of the market. iPhone needs to have a larger screen, and iPad is in need of a smaller size. If Apple still be out of the plan of making a large-screen iPhone, I will probably switch to Samsung Galaxy S4 or other larger smartphones.

  • Features, Specs, Price & Release Date of Purported iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C Before Official Release

Posted on August 21st, 2013 Amanda | No comments

The latest report reveals that the purported iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C is soon to be released on Sep. 10th Apple’s http://iga.edu/best-paper-writing-service-essay/ 2013 Launch, while, they won’t hit store shelves until Sep. 20. So let’s check out what features the high-end and low-end iPhones have before official release. Here are iPhone 5C and iPhone 5s release date, specs, colors, price, features and more you want to know.

iPhone 5S specs, colors & price:

    iPhone 5S concept

    Targeted at high-end market, we’d expect the iPhone 5S to come with a built-in fingerprint scanner, a dual-flash 12-megapixel camera, a new Apple A7 chip, a 4in screen with a resolution of 1,136×640 pixels, and a 128GB storage option.

The only improvement of iPhone 5S in appearance may be the new added color. The purported iPhone 5S is expected to come in a new champagne gold color, besides the traditional black and white. The golden color of iPhone 5S is expected to be welcome in both India and China and should also have a large number of customers in the west.

Rumors suggest that the iPhone 5S would cost £529 for the 16GB model, £599 for 32GB model and £699 for the 64GB model. If there is a 128GB model, it may cost £799.

    iPhone 5C features & price:

    Purported iPhone 5C

Perhaps the main features of iPhone 5C are cheap, plastic-cased and colorful. As a budget iPhone model launched alongside a fully-featured iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C will have very similar hardware specifications to the existing iPhone 5 and have a design similar to the iPad Mini, maybe the only difference is that iPhone 5C will use cheaper components and a plastic case to save cost. Certainly, the retail price of the budget iPhone 5C is expected to be US$400-500, around half the price of current iPhone 5, so as to compete against low-end Android devices.

You must be curious about what “C” means in iPhone 5C. Guessed by many reports that the letter “C” in iPhone 5C stands for “Color”, because iPhone 5C may come in a rainbow of colors, including green, white, black, champagne, golden, pink, etc.

    iOS 7 on iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C

    iPhone 5S with iOS 7

Apple has released the new iOS 7 Beta to developers, but the official version of iOS 7 won’t be available to all until September. Rumors suggest Apple would probably show us the iPhone 5S with iOS 7 Beta running on it on the Sep. 10th press conference, because the full and official version iOS 7 wouldn’t be revealed until Sep. 16th. So Apple fans, just wait patiently for another month to download the official version of iOS 7, or you may suffer from the annoying bugs of iOS 7 Beta and have to look everywhere to find a solution to recover lost data after iOS 7 upgrade.

Featured with a radically overhauled interface, new Control Center, transparent animations, new multitasking feature for apps and more, we are sure that the new iPhone 5S will give us a better user experience. So let’s wait and see!

  • iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C Are Purported to Hit the Market on September 20th

Posted on August 21st, 2013 Amanda | No comments

Tim Cook unveils iPhone 5C Martin Hajek

According to early iPhone 5S/iPad 5/iPad mini 2 launch tips that Apple may announce the release of iPhone 5S, iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 simultaneously at the Sep. 10th release conference. The specs and pictures about iPhone 5S/iPad 5/iPad mini 2 have also been leaked along with the rumor. However, the latest tech blog reveals that the original release date of iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 will be postponed to October 25th. Recently, from the leaked information from Apple suppliers, another purported low-cost iPhone 5C will probably be released on Sep. 10th too, the same release date with iPhone 5S.

If it turns out to be true, it will be the first time in Apple history that Apple Company has launched 2 different iPhone variants at the same time. The release of the purported iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C is doomed to come soon, now you may be eager to know when you can buy the two new handsets on the market. According to the latest news from a Greek blog Techmaniacs, after the release of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C on Sep. 10th, the two iPhone models will be for sale on the market on Sep. 20th, and Oct. 25th will be the second or third batch of on-sale date of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C in other countries and districts.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities said that “iPhone 5C to replace iPhone 5, while iPhone 4S goes on. We’ve learned that the iPhone 5 line will be terminated from 4Q13, while the iPhone 4S line will carry on.” He means that Apple aims to replace iPhone 5 with iPhone 5C by bringing in the colorful and cheap plastic-cased iPhone 5C, which targets at the midrange market. He also predicts that the product line of iPhone 4 may be terminated soon as the specs of iPhone 4 may not be adequate to run on the latest iOS 7. It is expected that there’ll be a new Apple product circle, containing iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, the price of which will fall into the price ranges of US$600-700, US$400-500, US$300-400 and US$200-300, respectively.

It may be a regret that the new things will replace the old things inevitably.  If you are going to purchase the new iPhone 5C or 5S, you had better transfer apps from old iPhone to new iPhone, or transfer other files between two iPhones or backup iPhone data to computer in case of data loss.

iPhone's potential share in china 2013

The iPhone 5C sale may do well in China market for 2 reasons. Firstly, the gold color model is widely regarded as a symbol of wealth and auspiciousness. Secondly, it is said that Apple will strike a deal with China Mobile when the Qualcomm chips that Apple adopt can be compatible with China Mobile’s TD-LTE 4G network. If the cooperation is achieved, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will undoubtedly win a big market share in China. With the joint effort by Apple and China Mobile, it is estimated that the penetration of TDD-LTE is to be boosted to 25% in iPhone 5S and 35% in iPhone 5C shipments, which will generate new shipments momentum for the supply chain.

So now what we can do is just waiting for the iPhone 5S and 5C release and go for sale patiently. As an iDevice loyalist, I honestly hope the upcoming iPhone 5S sale as well as iPhone 5C sale will be boosted greatly by building partnership with China Mobile.

  • Apple iPhone 5S – 7 Things You Should Know about the 7th Generation of Apple iPhone

Posted on August 21st, 2013 David Brooks | No comments

It’s that time of the year – the new iPhone is coming in less than literature review for dissertation a month on September 10th, and rumors and leaks are pouring on us from all sides. What should you believe and what not? One thing is clear – the Apple iPhone 5S will be better and more powerful than the current iPhone 5, so you’d better save your money and wait for it.

First, let’s make it clear that the new iPhone 5S will look just like the current iPhone 5. Traditionally, Apple is changing the design of iPhones once every two years, so a redesign is due only next year. Most changes will thus happen under the hood. We have summarized them all right.

    iPhone 5S

Fingerprint scanner built inside new ‘sapphire’ home key

A new camera and processor are more or less usual upgrades, but the most radical new feature in the iPhone 5S might turn out to be a fingerprint scanner built right into the home button. The main use of the scanner would be to easily unlock your device, but Apple might also use this as authentication for a future iPhone wallet app.

The new home key would allegedly be covered in sapphire instead of usual protected glass as sapphire is said to be even more secure. What’s interesting that some rumors even say the new home button might be convex, bulging outward.

New Apple A7 chip with 1GB of RAM

The new iPhone 5S is expected to come with a brand new chip inside – the Apple A7, an upgrade over the A6 chip on the iPhone 5.

The A7 is a dual-core 32nm chip manufactured by Samsung using the Higk-K Metal Gate technology. It features a higher clock speed of 1.5GHz, with better, quad-core PowerVR SGX 544MP4 graphics and the same 1GB amount of RAM. The type of RAM however has allegedly changed and Apple is using the now standard LPDDR3-1333 RAM rather than last year’s 1GB LPDDR2-1066. This means emory bandwidth is higher, going up from 8.5GB/s to 10.7GB/s.

Interestingly, rumors also claim that the next iPad will actually use a modified version of the A7 chip. That modified chip will be called Apple A7X and will come supporting higher processor frequencies and four graphic cores.

12-megapixel camera with dual LED flash

The other big upgrade will come in the camera department. The consensus is that the new iPhone 5S camera will have dual LED flash and a wider f/2.0 aperture for better low-light performance. Dual LED flash will allow for more even lighting and the lower the aperture, the more light gets into the sensor. That’s why the f/2.0 rumored aperture would be such a great asset for low-light photography compared to the f/2.4 one on the current iPhone 5.

Chances are Apple will bump the camera unit to a 12-megapixel one, but here rumors are split and some say Cupertino might decide that an 8-megapixel camera is sufficient.

Most certainly, it will come with built-in improved HDR shooting modes. That would definitely make sense if Apple goes for a 12-megapixel camera where the HDR mode would compensate for the smaller sized pixels with improved dynamic range in the highlights and shadows.

Interestingly, Apple might also include slow motion video recording at 120 frames per second. That would make possible some fun Matrix-style shooting possible. Cool.

Additionally, the iPhone 5S is said to get a better front facing camera than the current 1.2-megapixel one on the iPhone 5. There are no further details, but our guess is that Apple could go for a 2-megapixel shooter.

    iPhone 5S

    iPhone 5S in… gold

For years we have been used to just two color options for the iPhone – black and white, but this year the iPhone 5S might finally introduce a third one and that’s gold. Gold here refers to just the color, mind you, there is no actual gold in the device. And it won’t be an aggressive, lush color color – instead imagine a more aristocratic, champagne-like tonality.

    Maybe a 128GB version

The iPhone is currently offered in three versions – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB ones. The iPhone 5S might get a fourth one with a whopping 128GB of internal storage. Great news for those who use a lot of storage on their phone, but also good news for Apple. The company’s profit margins goes astronomically high for larger capacity models, and with a 128GB one it would make Apple even more profitable.

    NFC

Near-field communications, or NFC, is a technology mostly associated with phone wallets and cashless payments. Often said to be a technology of a future where you use your phone to pay for things, it was adopted by most phone makers except for Apple. This could also change in the iPhone 5S as it might become the first iPhone with NFC on board.

    Price

Finally, the iPhone 5S price. We have no reason to believe Apple will change its pricing. The basic model is likely to cost around $650 off contract, or $199 on a two-year plan. The iPhone 5S release date will probably be in late September in the United States, and October for tens of other markets worldwide.

  • The latest leaked images and analysis showed that Apple iPhone 5S would feature double LED flashlights and Finger scanner

Posted on August 12th, 2013 David Brooks | No comments

We knew that the next iPhone is getting closer and closer. Apple is expected to officially release iPhone 5S on September 10th. According to the existing information and news, we know at least Apple would bring out an iPhone 5S on the release event.  Other products on the release event might include a cheap iPhone 5C and other iPads. We also know that there might be quite a few options in color of the next iPhone model. Now, according to the latest reports and leaks, some leaked images showed that the next iPhone 5S would be featuring double LED flash. And according to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, considered to be well-connected to Apple, the next iteration of the Apple iPhone would feature a fingerprint scanner that would be connected to the phone’s home button.

    Apple-iPhone-5S-with-double-LED-flash

The opening for the flash is not elongated and not the circular cutout it was previously. It looks shorter than the usual Xenon flash, and just as large to fit two LED lights in. Moreover, the leaked parts show that the upcoming iPhone 5S will come with unchanged design, featuring the same plastic top and bottom strips on its back.

    iPhone-5S-with-double-LED-flash

Kuo is telling KGI’s clients that the button will be made of sapphire because of its properties that protect it from scratches. This will help protect the fingerprint scanner that will be embedded in the button. AuthenTec, the biometrics company bought by Apple last year, uses a different form of fingerprint scanning than other systems. Kuo says that the AuthenTec system is more likely not to be affected by dust. And the analyst also feels that the home button is a perfect place to put the fingerprint scanner so that iPhone users won’t get confused as to where to put their fingertip for scanning.

    fingerprint-scanner

The report states that the inclusion of the fingerprint scanner could help the Apple iPhone 5S pick up market share against Android and Windows Phone models. Additionally, the fingerprint scanner could actually perform some important functions such as helping to verify someone’s identification for mobile payments or for downloading and uploading files and content that has been placed in cloud based storage. But recently leaked pictures of parts for the phone do not show anything resembling a fingerprint scanner. Still, a PayPal executive let slip earlier this year, that the scanner will be a feature on the next iPhone and Apple has received patents for some of the technology involved.

  • Next generation of Apple iPhone – the iPhone 5S Reportedly to Be Unveiled on September 10th with Different Colors Available

Posted on August 12th, 2013 David Brooks | No comments

The rumors about the next generation of Apple iPhone have been flooding the sky that we have no idea which one would be reliable. Simply taking the name, there’s even report that said the next iPhone would be named iPhone 5G. But in most reports and news, the next iPhone is reportedly to be named as iPhone 5S, and a low-end iPhone 5C as well. So many reports online though, there’s no confirmed detail. As to the release date, we knew that Apple was likely to hold an event in early September in order to announce the new iPhone 5S and perhaps even a new iPad or two, but we didn’t know exactly when it would be. Now, thanks to AllThingsD, it looks like we have a date to circle on the calendar.

    iPhone 5S

According to sources from AllThingsD, Apple will hold an event on September 10th in order to announce the new iPhone 5S. The rumors make it sound like Apple will also be announcing the low-cost iPhone 5C, but that has not yet been confirmed, nor has it been confirmed that there will be any iPads at this event.

Apple has tended to keep the iPhone and iPad announcements separate, so it is probably more likely that we’ll see the iPhone 5S, the new lineup of iPods, and perhaps the iPhone 5C, and not any new iPad mini or full-size iPad.

According to the reports, the iPhone 5S would be the next flagship of Apple iPhone, just like its previous iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4S, etc. The appearance of iPhone 5S is also similar to that of iPhone 5.  While the iPhone 5C is originated from various iPhone packages, which means Apple would bring out cheap, colorful and plastic iPhone. Most reports guess C means Color. Talking about the colors of next iPhone, there’re also reports that the iPhone 5S would have more options in color, including: green, white, black, champagne, golden, etc.

Besides, the new iPhone 5S is also reportedly to get improvement in camera. It is reported that the new iPhone would come with an improved 8MP camera and F2.0 aperture.

  • Apple’s iOS 7 Upgrade Makes It An Unavoidable Trend to Upgrade Apps

Posted on July 18th, 2013 Amanda | No comments

Talking about the massively-changed look of iOS 7, you can imagine the overhaul of textures, colors, menus, buttons, navigation arrows, keyboards, dials, icons, all of which need to be updated to blend seamlessly with the new design Apple has chosen. Under this condition, the existed previous apps will be the top consideration after you have upgraded to iOS 7. What you should consider is not only the appearance of iOS 6 apps icons, but also the compatibility of iOS 7 with the iOS 6 apps.

iOS 7 is here to stay, and if you don’t upgrade your current apps by the fall, you’re the one that’s going to lose out.” The U.K.-based app developer group Entropy Labs nimbly pointed out on its blog Daring Fireball.

Indeed, if you have already upgraded your iPhone/iPad/iPOd touch to iOS 7 Beta, you must have noticed the minor parallas between the app icons of iOS 6 and iOS 7 that both exist on your device. When you put an iOS 6-designed app next to an iOS 7-ready one, the difference will be incredibly evident and certainly not in a good way. Just like the non-retina enabled Apps look like when they are put on iPhone 4, which gives you a feeling of incoordination and strangeness. Put it in a word, the pre-iOS 7 Apps running on the new OS 7 looks aged, clunky, and ancient. Another problem about apps is that iOS 7 is not completely compatible with some of the previous apps on it, such as iOS 6 apps.

iOS 6 apps and iOS 7 apps on one iPhone

If you just can’t bear the inharmonious feeling that the apps coming from two different iOSs bring you, and want a more smooth running of apps on your iOS device, you have two choices: downgrade your iOS 7 to the previous iOS 6 to suit and keep all the iOS 6 apps including the Cydia apps, or just give up the iOS 6 apps and update to iOS 7-ready apps. For the second choice, it’s easy to conduct, even though you are less tech-savvy users and not familiar with the App Store in iOS 7, because all the iOS 7-ready apps will automatically update without any actions taken by you.

Transfer apps among iOS devices, iTunes, PC

No matter your final decision is to go back to iOS 6 or upgrade apps and remove iOS 6 apps from your iOS 7 devices, one point to remember is to back up iOS 7 before you take any actions, otherwise, unavoidable data loss will happen to your device.

If you want to back up iOS 7 photos, videos, contacts, messages, notes, voice memos, calendars, reminders, call histories and Safari bookmarks, you can use Leawo iOS Data Recovery, which can not only help to back up data of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running iOS 7 to PC, but can also recover deleted data directly from the iOS devices when you mistakenly delete important data like contacts, messages, notes, calendars, call histories, reminders and Safari bookmarks.

  • Upgrade to iOS 7 or Not – Choices That iPhone, iPad and iPod touch Users Face

Posted on July 17th, 2013 Amanda | No comments

Apple claims iOS 7 as “the world’s most advanced mobile OS”, is it just a boast or something real? Just as Apple has said, iOS 7 is designed to make it work more beautifully and create an experience that is simpler, more useful, and more enjoyable. It sounds attractive but needs practice test.

    iOS 7 Beta 2

Indeed, there are a lot of great new features to love about iOS 7, the totally redesigned Multitasking app-switcher, the new lock screen, the revamped Notification Center, a super-charged Siri, a new and easily-accessed quick settings bar. Above all, all your favorite apps have been enhanced to make everything even easier to get access to and use. To some extent, iOS 7 is a rebirth of its software design and a rejuvenation of the core iOS experience.

All of the new features must be the reasons that people want to download and install iOS 7 Beta 2 to the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. However, there are some people who voice objections to update to iOS 7. Maybe they don’t love the look of the new iOS 7, or just because the OS is in beta with the unstable performance and some occasional bugs.

    iOS 7 Beta 2 bugs

If you can’t live with the unfinished Safari icon, mind the parallax effect, or can’t bear the bugs of the beta version of iOS 7, such as the backup of iOS 7 device can’t be restored to iOS 6 device by iTunes, you’d better not update to iOS 7 Beta now, just wait until the September to enjoy the better experience of the improved iOS 7 when it is officially released and open to all.

According to the statistics shown in the Developer section of Apple official website, there are 94% of iOS users have upgraded iOS 6 till June 29th, while, only 5% of iOS users stay in iOS 5, the remained 1% are users using versions below iOS 5. Those iOS 5 users who keep silent and do nothing while watching iOS 7 include two parts: iPod touch 4/3, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1 users, as well as iPad 2, iPhone 4S and Phone 4 users. For the first parts of iOS 5 devices users, they keep silent for the reason that their devices can’t have the chance to be upgraded to the latest iOS 7, for the latter part, they keep silent just because they know if they want to use various free third-party software programs and apps that Cydia provides, thay have to upgrade to iOS 6.1.3 or iOS 7, so why not directly upgrade to the latest iOS 7?

If you have already succeeded to upgrade to iOS 7 Beta 2, and find some data deleted from your device, you can use the comprehensive iPhone/iPod touch/iPad data recovery software to recover 12 kinds of data from previous iTunes backup if you have, or recover 7 types of deleted data directly from your iOS device even though you have no backups in advance. In order to prevent data loss happened during iOS 7 upgrade, you’d better back up iPhone/iPad/iPod touch contacts to computer ahead of time. For files like music, movies, TV shows, ringtones, photos, apps, PDF and ePub, you can also transfer them to the computer or iTunes for backup with iTransfer for iPhone/iPad/iPod.
