• Steve Jobs’ resigning as Apple CEO brought market share impact to Apple

Posted on August 25th, 2011 David Brooks No comments

On Wednesday, Steve Jobs resigned as chief executive of Apple and passed the reins to his right-hand man, Tim Cook, chief operating officer. The resigning of Jobs itself may not be so bad thing to all Apple investigators and Apple fans. But the signal of the resigning may make them worry, for it indicates the poor health condition of Steve Jobs. It seems that the 56-year-old co-founder of the company is losing his battle with cancer. That is what the whole world would worry about, especially those Apple fans and investigators.

Steve JobsThe announcement of Steve Jobs’ resigning was made in a statement from Apple with a letter from Jobs, in which Jobs said: “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

Apple revealed that Jobs gave the board his resignation on Wednesday and suggested Cook be named the company’s new leader. Jobs was elected board chairman and Cook is becoming a member of its board.

Jobs’ hits seemed to grow bigger as the years went on. During the years Jobs as the CEO, Apple has brought world many excellent devices, like iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc. People’s digital entertainment life has been greatly fulfilled for they could freely watch video on iPhone, watch DVD on iPod, or watch Blu-ray on iPad anytime anywhere without limitation. And we should also thank Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, because it is he who boosted the development of the current glorious electronic product market.

Steve Jobs has acted an incredible role in the development to the company. A 5% decline of Apple market share in after-hours trading on Wednesday wipes more than $17bn (£10.3bn) off Apple’s stock market value, sending it down from $348bn to $330.5bn, just due to the resigning of Steve Jobs.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role. I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.” Jobs said in his resigning.

  • Rumored iPad 3 to Be Ready for Production, May Have a Place in This WWDC

Posted on April 11th, 2011 David Brooks No comments

A media report from Taiwan reported that Apple had confirmed the accessory suppliers of iPad 3 and the related accessories have been ready for production. The Apple iPad 3 may make an appearance in this WWDC.

    iPad 3

When other tablet companies are suffering from the material shortage due to the Japan earthquake, Apple has snapped up materials to ensure an abundant supply of materials for the peak period and planed to add new functions like 4G capability and other advantageous features to compete other tablets in market. And according to the news about iPad 3 on this WWDC, many people have been keeping skeptical about this. The iPad 2 has seen a 2.5 million sales in March alone. Though said to be a transition product to iPad 3, iPad 2 has got great attention and achievement for Apple. The great sale of iPad 2 is one of the main reasons for the dissenting voice. And another reason is about the product circle from Apple. Many people said that report of iPad 3 on this WWDC doesn’t meet the product circle of Apple product. That seems to make sense.

    2011: Year of iPad 2

Still, many other people thought they got hint from Jobs’ words that “2011 is a year of iPad 2”. This could be a very good reason for people to guess no iPad 3 would appear this year.

Anyway, it would not be false that Apple has confirmed the accessory suppliers for the next generation of iPad. What we could do now is just wait for the latest news for the iPad 3.

  • Another Apple iPhone 5 Rumor That A Probable June Release Date for iPhone 5

Posted on April 6th, 2011 David Brooks No comments

Early on this Monday, a South Korean news site reported that the smartphone iPhone 5 would be released at a Steve Jobs hosted event sometime around the time of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco, probable on June 4 or 6, while the WWDC is scheduled from June 6 to 10.

    iPhone 5 Rumors

The South Korea-based ETNews had convinced audios by reporting that an unnamed “industry official” had “confirmed” the released date of Apple iPhone 5 to be in June, between June 4 and June 6. Besides this, the report also said that the availability of the iPhone 5 to South Korean Apple iPhone fans would be not as late as the end of June through local carriers.

Though this is very appealing and exciting news about Apple iPhone 5 for Apple fans, still many people keep skeptical about this report. There are some questions from users like: Is it likely that South Korean will get the new iPhone 5 just a few months after Apple started selling the iPhone 4 in that country? And the iPhone 4 is still selling briskly and possible roadblock in Apple’s ability as of yet to integrate 4G technology into its new handset to its liking, does it make sense for the company to rush the iPhone 5 to market? And other rumors like the delay to fall of iPhone 5 release also make sense, so what would be the right one?

And from some inner thoughts of some Apple fans, it makes sense and is high expected that this rumor would be material. Just like this one: Well, yes, the iPhone 4 still sell briskly, but I don’t think this will be roadblocks in Apple’s ability as of yet to integrate 4G technology into its new handset to its liking, it make sense for the company to rush the iPhone 5 to market, many are looking forward to the 4G! Hope this report will be true, and my expected features “Improved Antenna, 1080p HDMI Output, Improved Battery Life, 4G Network”, that commented in iFunia news blog will be come true to the iPhone 5!

Anyway, if you just plan to make a deal of an iPhone 4 currently, maybe it would be wiser for you to wait for some days for the next generation of iPhone. No matter whether this would be true, let’s just look forward to the new magic Steve Jobs plans to play to the world.

  • What Steve Jobs Had Brought to Apple Fans on the Apple iPad 2 Launch: iPad 2 Specs

Posted on March 3rd, 2011 David Brooks No comments

For long waiting, the Apple iPad 2 was finally introduced in details on its March 2 launch in Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco. Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who made surprise appearance on the iPad 2 launch to introduce this much-anticipated gadget, had provided specifications about the Apple iPad 2.

Maybe for most people, the big news from Silicon Valley should be Steve Jobs’ appearance on the iPad 2 debut, instead of a result for all anticipations towards iPad 2. “Jobs took the stage to a standing ovation, and shares of Apple, which had been flat, climbed as much as 1.4 percent,” a report from Reuters. “He looks thin — but not more so than he did at September’s press event — but upbeat.” The appearance of this legendary leader who leads Apple to such top-notch in electronics had made a big surprise and excited all Apple fans. “Didn’t want to miss today”, Jobs said when strolling onto stage.

Anyway, the presence of Steve Jobs was to add stimulant to the iPad 2 launch. And let’s just take a look what Steve Jobs had brought to Apple fans on the launch. Here I have collected the big staff of the new iPad 2 gadget. Check these specifications to see what anticipations about the Apple iPad 2 have been realized:

    • 1GHz dual-core A5 CPU

     • RAM currently unknown, presumably 512MB

    • 16GB, 32GB, 64GB storage options

    • Front & Rear Cameras, front is VGA, rear is 720p

    • 9.7″ LED display with 1024×768 screen resolution at 132ppi

    • GPU said to be 9X faster

    • Video output supports up to 1080p

    • Runs iOS 4.3

    • 10 hour battery life

    • White & Black color options

    • 3G models are AT&T and Verizon compatible

    • 1.3 lbs

    • Thinner body

Most of the features are just as people anticipated before. But rarely would people guess the “video output supports up to 1080p”, which has successfully made it a surprise by Apple. And for the price and shipment availability, Steve Jobs also mentioned in the launch. The price would still start from $499 while white iPad 2 would be available on March 11 in America and “in at least 26 more countries on March 25”.

Well, it seems now we only need to wait for days to get the newly iPad 2. Believe that the Apple iPad 2 would make a better performance than anticipated.

  • March 2: Exciting Day for Apple iPad Fans – Apple iPad 2 Finally Comes Out with New Features

Posted on March 2nd, 2011 David Brooks No comments

Today, March 2, will be absolutely a worthy exciting celebration day for Apple iPad fans, as the long long awaited Apple iPad 2 would finally be released in Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco.

So many rumors in the past days had been pushed on the release date and the new functions of this new gadget. People around the world all show their anticipations towards the new coming features and performance from Apple iPad 2. And after numerous delays on production or other reasons, the Apple iPad 2 was confirmed to be released today in San Francisco. As the Apple iPad 2 has not been released officially, the specifications about this new popular gadget are still in guess. But so far, some features of Apple iPad 2 could be confirmed on the latest leaked news and pictures about iPad 2.

The main feature in the near upcoming iPad 2 that catches consumers’ attention is the front and rear camera with a display for FaceTime. The rear camera will be able to take both high definition videos and photos. It will include a larger processor and hard drive, with a nifty feature with the ability to print wirelessly. And other supposed new features would include Multi-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, Dual-core SGX543 GPU, high definition 2048 x 1536 display at 260 dpi, GSM/CDMA chipset, SD card slot, larger memory space, etc.

There are also concerns about the shipment of the Apple iPad 2 since its launch today. Reports have indicated that hang-ups in the device’s production could cause some delay in the actual release of the new iPad. But Apple Insider sources say the tablet may arrive much faster than anyone expected. Some even rumors the Apple iPad 2 would be available immediately since the launch of March 2.

Besides the gadget, Apple fans also concern that whether Apple CEO Steve Jobs would be able to be there in San Francisco for the iPad 2 release. Steve Jobs, who is in medical leave for battling cancer, has been seen around Cupertino in recent weeks and had dinner with President Barack Obama last month. But, his appearance is still not confirmed. For Apple fans, it might be a pity if Steve Jobs is absent from this long anticipated launch of the Apple iPad 2.

Whatever, these are all something we expect or concern about. Let’s just wait for good news from Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco.
