• Samsung Will Soon Allow Galaxy Fingerprint Reader to Unlock Any Windows 10 PC

Posted on February 22nd, 2017 admin No comments

As planned, Samsung is going to make its Flow Android app compatible with any Windows 10 PC. At first, Samsung introduced a Samsung Flow App for Android last year to unlock its Windows 10-powered Galaxy TabPro S, and users can use the fingerprint reader on a compatible Galaxy smartphone to directly unlock the Windows 10 tablet.

At the moment, Samsung Flow allows Galaxy Tab Pro S users to unlock their tablet with a compatible Galaxy smartphone’s fingerprint scanner. Here are the supported smartphones confirmed by Samsung: Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy A5 (2016), and Galaxy A7 (2016).

The good news is Samsung plans to add support for all Windows 10 PCs, which will enable users to unlock their devices with any of the compatible Galaxy smartphones listed above.

The Korean company is planning to enable the feature With the Windows 10 Creators Update while Microsoft hasn’t officially announced a release date for the Creators Update. However, the Update is expected to arrive in April. Samsung was already using Microsoft’s Windows Hello Companion Device Framework to enable its fingerprint unlock, and it appears the company is simply expanding on that with the latest update to Windows 10.

Posted on February 5th, 2013 David Brooks No comments

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, today announced the Samsung GALAXY Young and Samsung GALAXY Fame. The GALAXY Young, available in white, deep blue, wine red and metallic silver, is a smart and affordable Android playmate for the younger, stylish generation of mobile users. The GALAXY Fame, available in pearl white and metallic blue, combines powerful performance with an essential suite of features and services, all packed within a stylish design. With the release of these two new smartphones, there are more options for new generation to enjoy their digital life, say, watch movies on Samsung Galaxy Young…Let’s have a look at these new handsets.

    Samsung Galaxy Young

    Samsung GALAXY Young

The Galaxy Young seems to be the very definition of a budget smartphone, thanks to its tiny 3.27-inch HVGA (480×320) screen, 1Ghz single-core processor, 768MB of RAM, and a 1300mAh battery. The only camera option is a 3MP rear shooter. Storage is limited to 4GB, though the addition of a MicroSD card slot is a mercy. Naturally the software has the full TouchWiz treatment, complete with a light version of Samsung’s Game Hub. Dimensions are 58.6×109.4 x12.5mm.

    Samsung GALAXY Fame

The Galaxy Fame is slightly more high-end, with a 3.5-inch screen of the same resolution, a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. You also get NFC and Glonass GPS. Strangely, the Fame has a slightly lower 512MB of RAM. Other specifications are identical, and it’s a bit taller, wider, and thinner at 113.2×61.6×11.6mm. Both phones will be available in standard versions and the increasingly popular dual SIM models. There is no word on when either will be available for purchase, where, or for how much.

According to a press release issued by the company, both the smartphones come pre-loaded with company’s Motion UI, which allows you to refresh and update widgets and other content by simply shaking your Galaxy Fame or Young. The phones also come pre-loaded with Samsung Game Hub Lite, which packs the best compatible games for these under-powered phones.

  • Preview of Samsung Galaxy Note II Specs and Release Date

Posted on August 15th, 2012 David Brooks No comments

Apparently, the Samsung Galaxy Note has been a success of Samsung in the past time, although the mobile phone’s large size makes it quite difficult to handle compared to other smartphones like iPhone and HTC One X. There really exists a market for that large device. Maybe the large size of the phone just fills the gap between a normal smartphone and a tablet. Now, with the great popularity of Samsung Galaxy Note, its successor, the Samsung Galaxy Note II, is just on the corner for official release. The release date has been confirmed to be August 29th, half a month later only. Before the official release of Samsung Galaxy Note II, there’re full anticipations towards the specs and features. People are all guessing what this new phone would bring to the world. Now, as the official release is just right here under our noses, we tend to see what features the new handset would come with, summarizing from various anticipations and resources.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2Firstly, for the screen display, the device will not feature a 1080p display (as it’s too power and resource-hungry), but rather go for a slightly larger, 5.5-inch 1280 x 800-pixel Super AMOLED screen. Good news is that it will use a regular RGB matrix, rather than PenTile, which in simpler turns means more subpixels and better image quality. Quite obviously, the Samsung Galaxy Note II would continue its predecessor to provide amazing video experience for owners to watch HD movie on Galaxy Note with bright video effect.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II will also be expected to be powered by a Samsung Exynos 4 Quad chip. There’re rumors on both Exynos 4412 and Exynos 5250 processor on Note II, but it’s more reliable that the smartphone would adopt Exynos 4412 processor locked at 1.6 GHz. The RAM memory on the Galaxy Note II will most probably be 2 GB.

Though it’s expected that the Samsung Galaxy Note II should run on the latest Android OS, the 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, the fact may disappoint people who have such thoughts. The leaked benchmark results show that the new phone is most probably running on the Android 4.0 ICS operating system.

From the rumors, camera is also a big concern from all people. Though the detailed information has not been that certain on what camera the new smartphone would adopt, it’s believed the new phone may configure with either 8MP or 12MP rear camera, with the former more possible.

For other information, we have to wait for the official release of the new smartphone, August 29th. If you have any information about this new phone, feel free to share with others in the comment part or contact me.
