Samsung used to announce its new devices in March or April to follow its product round. However, with the fastening on main product renew from its rivals like Apple, Samsung seems to shorten its product renew period as well. It is quite reasonable to seen the Samsung Galaxy S 4 to be released in the coming February. Meanwhile, as the MWC2013 would happen in the same month, the rumor seems to be more reliable.

    Cortex-A15 Quad-core processor
As for the specs, according to rumors, the Galaxy S4 would come with a 5-inch (4.99″ actually) FHD touchscreen. Like any other predecessors, it would be amazing for you to watch HD movies on Galaxy S 4. The new smartphone would run on a greatly improved processor, the Exynos 5450 quad-core processor, which adopts brand new Cortext-A15 framework and 28nm processing with up to 2.0GHz main frequency and Mali-658 graphic processing chipset. The overall performance of the processor would be improved by 3-5 times.

    13MP Camera
As to camera, Samsung Galaxy S 4 is built in with a 13MP camera. No detailed information about the shooting effect has been revealed. This new camera is said to be configured on the Samsung Galaxy Note II, which finally adopted an 8MP camera due to the supply shortage.

    Android 5.0 OS
Another advantage of Galaxy S 4 is that it is reported to configure the upcoming Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie OS. If this is true, it would mean that even if the release event is set to be February, the market availability of this phone would be not earlier than the next May. As Google is reported to possibly announce its new OS in May.

Considering on various elements, the most reliable date of the official release might be the Q2 of 2013. What’s your opinion?

  • Samsung Project J: Galaxy S IV and New Galaxy Note 2 Hits in April 2013

Posted on December 4th, 2012 David Brooks No comments

Samsung has managed to climb at the top of the smartphone market with its Android-based Galaxy models, and it seems that new devices that will help the company remain there will land on shelves soon. Among them, there will be a new smartphone in the popular Galaxy S lineup, one that has already been rumored to hit shelves as Galaxy S IV.

Samsung’s Galaxy S III is still flying off store shelves, but rumors surrounding the next iteration flagship, currently dubbed “Project J,” suggest the phone may launch as early as April 2013. Project J, as you might have guessed, is simply the codename for the Galaxy S IV – the successor to what most could argue was this year’s best Android phone.

No official confirmation on the matter has emerged so far, nor did info on the hardware specs of the Galaxy S IV make it online.

Details on the Galaxy S IV are sparse at this hour but most in the know expect it to carry a Samsung Exynos 5450 chipset with a quad-core Cortex-A15 processor, 2GB of system RAM, a 13MP rear camera and a 5-inch 1080p screen. The same sources also point to a cheaper Galaxy Note II to launch in Europe and will have lower specs than the current Note II. It’s said that the device won’t come with a stylus and no AMOLED display technology either. Furthermore, a competitor to ASUS’ Transformer tablet series is also rumored to be on the way from Samsung. It’s said that the company wants to bring a 13.3-inch tablet to the market with QWERTY keyboard dock accessory. However, no other details were given about the possible tablet.

The market name of this phone is unknown at the moment, and the same applies to its hardware specifications, it seems.

The new device model is expected to be released in Europe, and might not feature the S-Pen functionality that made its predecessors so popular. No other details on the handset’s capabilities and specs have been provided as of yet, but keep an eye on this space for additional info on the matter.

We’re interested to see where Samsung might go with this if the rumors turn out to be true.
