Apple’s iPad is becoming a familiar feature of business life with organizations increasingly deciding to equip their staff with a tablet device. Always on hand to help, silicon.com’s Shelley Portlet tracked down the 10 most useful iPad accessories for businesses to help users get the most out of the iPad. The following pictures and descriptions list the 10 most popular and useful iPad accessories from Shelley Portlet’s tracking.

iPad Camera Connection Kit1. First up is iPad Hut’s 5-in-1 iPad Camera Connection Kit, which allows the iPad to connect with a range of different devices including digital cameras, TVs and monitors.

The adaptor has five ports including a USB port, SD card port, microSD card port, 3.5mm DC port and mini USB port, as well as AV leads – allowing you to connect your tablet to other hardware or sideload documents and presentations from all those memory cards and USB sticks knocking around in your bag.

iPad Stand2. The Sir James iPad floor stand by Arktis can turn the iPad into a presentation aid for conferences and meetings.

For those using the iPad at trade fairs or exhibitions, the stand comes with a nifty barrier that can be used to prevent access to the home key, ensuring attendees using the iPad are only able to use the app intended.

iPad Wall Mount3. The iPad wall mount by Vogel gives easy access to the tablet device with a click-and-release system that allows the iPad to be easily attached and removed.

As well as providing a neat place to keep a communal office iPad, when attached to the wall mount, the iPad can be fully rotated, making it a useful focal point for group collaboration.

Waterproof iPad Case4. iPad Hut’s waterproof iPad case becomes 100 per cent waterproof when sealed, ideal for protecting the iPad from knocked over cups of coffee at heated board meetings – or pints during ‘off-site meetings’.

Fancy taking your work away with you on holiday? The case also allows the iPad to be used in the water so you can keep on top of your emails in the swimming pool.

SmarTouch Gloves iPad5. While winter may seem but a distant memory, the recollection of icy fingers forced out of the warm to operate touchscreens still haunts us.

Thankfully, the Isotoner SmarTouch Gloves pictured above have been designed to use on touchscreens so iPad-induced frostbite should become a thing of the past.

HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-one printer6. The HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One Printer bypasses the need for the iPad to be connected to an office network in order to send documents for print – just email the documents to the printer’s email address and wait for the printouts.

The printer also features a 6.1cm LCD screen with TouchSmart frame.

External Hard Drive for iPad7. The least expensive iPad comes with just 16GB of storage so adding an external hard drive might be a good option. The Seagate GoFlex Satellite wireless external hard drive adds 500GB or storage space which Seagate says will hold up to 300 movies. It can stream to as many as three iPads at a time.

Movile TV Tuner for iPad8. The Elgato Tivizen Mobile TV Tuner allows iPad users to watch TV on the go – handy for those who need to keep in touch with news and other programmes on the move or for making that commute slightly more bearable.

The tuner picks up Freeview signals and transmits them to the iPad using its own local wi-fi network and doesn’t require internet access to work. It also allows programmes to be paused and recorded.

USB Car Charger for iPad9. The Macally CARUSB10 2 Port USB Car Charger shown above plugs into a car’s cigarette lighter jack and allows the iPad to be charged en route – useful for when your battery fails on the way to that all-important sales meeting.

The charger has two USB ports so you can charge your iPhone at the same time.

Foldable Wireless Shortcut Keyboard for iPad

    10. The Eagle AppsKey Pro Foldable Wireless Shortcut Keyboard also allows you to dodge the tricky task of typing on glass, and its ability to fold in half makes it ideal for those who need a pocket-sized peripheral for use on the move.

What accessories have we missed? Let us know your favourite iPad add-on by posting a reader comment below.

iPad Keyboard Dock11. And No. 11 as a bonus. Apple’s iPad keyboard dock turns the iPad into a stand-in desktop as the full-size keyboard makes typing out long documents easier.

The dock also charges the iPad so it’s ready to be used on the move.

A longtime policeman in County Galway, Boyle is a maverick with his own moral code. He has seen enough of the world to know there isn’t much to it and has had plenty of time to think about it. When a fellow police officer disappears and Boyle’s small town becomes key to a large drug trafficking investigation, he is forced to at least feign interest when dealing with the humorless FBI agent Wendell Everett (Don Cheadle) assigned to the case. — (C) Sony Pictures

With his and his family’s lives at stake, Latif must surrender his former self forever as he learns to walk, talk and act like Uday. But nothing could have prepared him for the horror of the Black Prince’s psychotic, drug-addled life of fast cars, easy women and impulsive violence. — (C) Lionsgate

  • 7 Steps to Organize a Perfect PowerPoint Presentation

Posted on July 22nd, 2011 admin No comments

Besides prepare a good PowerPoint file, to make your PowerPoint presentation successful you need to:

    • Differentiate yourself from your competitors.
    • Convince your audience you are worth listening to.
    • Deliver information that is understood and appreciated.
    • Keep your audience listening and engaged from the beginning.

Here is a 7-step guide on how to organize a perfect PowerPoint presentation. It deals with what/when/how you should do something.

Step 1: Begin with your big message.

A big message is the main thing you want your audience to know about you. It is boring to hear so many presenters wasting the most important opening minutes with the standard “Thank you for …” or “My name is …”. So start with the big message to set you apart from other presenters and convince your audience they need you. Then you may introduce yourself.

Step 2: Organize your content in 3 or 4 main topics.

People tends to find reasons for everything so if your PowerPoint presentation seems reasonable to them, they can understand it better. So you need to organize it into a coherent structure so it makes sense and organize into to 3 or 4 topics for easier remembering and understanding. Let’s say you divide the presentation into 3 topics and organize the rest of content go under the 3 headings. So even if you talk really long and the audience may forget the details, they will still remember the main topics.

Step 3: Reinforce your big message with a visual illustration.

Pictures are always more memorable than words. Especially when you need to use many words to explain one thing, why not use a picture to show what it is. For example, when you need to deal with some statistics, it’s better to create a chart than use plain words.

If you are allowed to make the picture humorous, it will be better.

Step 4: Eliminate as much text as you can; your slides are a visual aid not a reading exercise.

Good eye contact is the key of a successful PowerPoint presentation. You cannot eye contact with the audience if they are busy reading from the screen. So only the bullet points and key words should be remained on the slides. Since people can only concentrate on one thing at a time so they cannot listen to you while they are reading.

Step 5: Don’t print the PowerPoint slides as handouts; create separate documents.

PowerPoint slides and documents have so many differences like backgrounds, fonts, etc. PowerPoint slides looks good on screens but not on papers. You’d better create reader-friendly documents because they are readable and people actually read them.

Step 6: End your presentation by returning to your opening big message.

Once you finish delivering content, repeat the big message you began with–to remind your audience what sets you apart. What’s more, when you end where you began, your presentation has the seamless and satisfying quality of a good performance.

Step 7: Practice with a coach before the real presentation.

These wonderful dances or programs on TV are the results of the rehearsals you cannot see behind the stage. So a good coach can make your PowerPoint presentation more professional. It is really difficult to do things well at the first try. So practice some times and your coach will check you make good eye contact and speak conversationally.

  • Top 10 most anticipated upcoming tech products details and pictures

Posted on July 20th, 2011 David Brooks No comments

Along with the fast development of technology in mobile phones and telecommunication devices, people have longed more for the future tech products and various high tech telecommunication companies become to upgrade their tech products faster, which enables worldwide users to experience totally different devices upon different tech products. And thanks to ZDNet Author, who has listed out some top 10 most anticipated upcoming tech products for us to make a brief understanding about these advanced tech devices. The following lists the 10 most anticipated upcoming tech products, originally released on zdnet.com.

    New MacBook Airs

    New MacBook Airs

The new MacBook Airs with updated Intel Sandy Bridge processors Core i series processor are due to hit any day along with OS X Lion. The new Airs are rumored to to feature a high-speed Thunderbolt port and perhaps a lighted keyboard while retaining the same form factor.

    Vizio XVT3D6SP series

    XVizio XVT3D6SP series

Back in January, the Vizio XVT3D6SP series was our Best of CES winner in the TV category. On top of offering passive 3D and a full-array LED backlight with local dimming, the XVT3D6SP series is loaded with features. Here’s what editor David Katzamier had to say about it:

“The Vizio XVT3D6SP series is billed as a complement to the company’s new Android phone and tablet. It boasts a custom Google TV interface and a beefed-up version of VIA (Vizio Internet Apps), our favorite Internet TV suite of last year. It also has a spiffy new remote that replaces a trendy touch screen with a much more useful touch pad, a la your favorite laptop PC. Finally it boasts passive 3D (see below) and all of the full-array local-dimming LED goodness we liked so much on the XVT3SV series. Oh yeah: it’s also the first TV announced with embedded OnLive gaming (video).”

    Samsung Nexus Prime

    Samsung Nexus Prime

Rumor has it that the Samsung Nexus Prime, due out late this year, will be the first smartphone to run Android Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Here’s what Scott Webster had to say about it on a post on CNET:

“Keeping with other Pure Google experience smartphones, the Nexus Prime is expected to be devoid of any carrier customization or pre-loaded applications. Rumors also have been swirling that the first Ice Cream Sandwich handset would also be notable for another absence, physical buttons. And given that the next iteration of Android blends parts of Honeycomb and Gingerbread, it’s very possible that any 4.0+ devices could operate without hard keys.

“The “monster-sized” screen will be branded as a “Super AMOLED HD” display, matching up with previous reports of a 720p resolution. For the sake of comparison, today’s top Android smart phones feature qHD screens that operate at 960×540 resolution, whereas mid-range devices now typically run with 800×480 resolution.”

Rumor has it that the Nexus Prime (or whatever name the device ends up with) will also have a next-generation dual-core processor running ion the 1.2-1.5 GHZ range.

    Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color

    Nook Color

While the Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color isn’t a full-fledged Android tablet (with Android Market) unless you root it and install custom firmware, it is the best-selling Android-based tablet out there right now, priced at a modest $249.

Before the holiday buying season we expect that Barnes & Noble will upgrade it, perhaps as soon as late October. We doubt the design will change dramatically (if at all), but we do think it will get a faster processor and some other small but significant improvements.

    Motorola Droid Bionic

    Motorola Droid Bionic

The Motorola Droid Bionic is due to hit very soon and will be among the few Verizon phones to work on the carrier’s new 4G LTE network. Overall, it has impressive specs, which CNET editor Nicole Lee summarized back at CES in January (watch her first-look video):

“Aside from 4G and the dual-core processors, the Droid Bionic also has 512MB DDR2 RAM; HDMI mirroring (so you can view video on both the phone and the TV when they’re connected); 1080p video playback; 8-megapixel camera on the rear plus a front-facing VGA camera for video calls; Wi-Fi, of course; mobile Wi-Fi hot spot for up to five devices (subject to carrier fees); and since it ships with Android 2.2, the WebKit browser also plays in-browser Flash video.

    Amazon touch-screen Kindle

    Amazon Touch-screen Kindle

Will Amazon put out a touch-screen Kindle? Or will it release an even more affordable non-touch model to follow up on the success of the Kindle 3? Speculation is heating up as we head into August, which is when Amazon revealed the Kindle 3 last year.

    iPod touch

    iPod Touch

It doesn’t seem like there’s much more that Apple can do with the iPod Touch, but there’s talk of an added 3G option (you’ll have to pay for service) and the possibility of a jumbo Touch that might also qualify as an iPad Mini.

    Sony PlayStation Vita

    Sony PlayStantion Vita

Sony’s next portable gaming console, the PlayStation Vita, ups the ante in terms of graphics and features. But it remains to be seen whether the $249 Vita (or $299 with 3G) will be a hit after Sony experienced such a tepid reception for the PlayStation Go.

Due to hit this fall, the Vita has built-in WiFi, dual joysticks, multitouch 5-inch OLED screen, front and rear touchpads, and front and rear cameras.

    Amazon Android tablet

    Amazon Android Tablets

Rumor has it that Amazon will be releasing two new Android tablets by year’s end. The smaller model may have a 7-inch screen and be something along the lines of the Nook Color but feature a more powerful processor (and be aggressively priced). A larger 10-inch model will allegedly be designed to compete with the iPad.

    Apple iPhone 5

    Apple iPhone 5

Will the iPhone 5 have an all new design or simply retain the iPhone 4’s chassis and offer such upgrades as a faster A5 processor and improved camera? And will it be a true 4G phone? At this point, no one knows for sure but all signs point to a Fall release date for the next-generation iPhone, whatever it’s called.
