And, a Movie Converter could help you to watch these Father’s Day movies on different players.

Happy Father's DayWell, check the following list to get the Top 10 most popular Father’s Day movies:

    Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Directed by Ken Hughes and written by Ian Fleming, Roald Dahl, Ken Hughes and Richard Malbaum, this movie stars Dick Van Dyke, Sally Ann Howes and Lionel Jeffries. When eccentric single-dad Caractacus Potts invents a revolutionary car, a foreign government becomes interested and will do anything to get their hands on it. Caractacus may not be the most organized father, but he sure is fun! Especially when he’s making breakfast with one of his wacky inventions.

    Father of the Bride (1991)
A comedy about a dad who goes a little haywire in the midst of his only daughter planning her wedding and getting married. Perfect for the over-protective dad. The film inspired a series of Hallmark commercials that featured the smiling faces of the happy couple and sneak-peeks at the backs of numerous greeting cards. This film is number 92 on Bravo’s “100 Funniest Movies”.

    The Incredibles
This dad is actually the superhero most kids believe their dad to be. But that’s not what makes him great. He’s got powers, sure, but it’s how you teach your kids that makes you truly super.

The film won the 2004 Annie Award for Best Animated Feature, along with two 2004 Academy Awards, Best Animated Feature and Best Sound Editing. It also received nominations for two other Academy Awards, won the Saturn Award for Best Animated Film, and became the first entirely animated film to win the prestigious Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation. It was also nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the 2004 Golden Globes.

    Field of Dreams
An Iowa corn farmer hears voices in his head commanding him to build a baseball diamond in his fields. Once he does the Chicago Black Sox show up to play, including one very special player. The most commonly used quote in the movie is “If you build he will come.” However, many people misquote it, saying, “If you build it they will come.”

    I Love You Daddy

    Parenthood
Gil and Karen Buckmans are your average Midwestern couple, dealing with high-stress jobs and estranged relatives, all the while raising their kids to be good people. And somehow, they never lose their sense of humor – especially Gil.

    Life is Beautiful
Horrible things sometimes happen in life, but we have the power of choice — the choice of how to live with what life throws at us. During one of the worst times in world history, Guido makes it all a game, giving his son a way to cope and the ability to remain an innocent for just a little bit longer.

    The Pursuit of Happyness
Frankly speaking, this movie is one of my favorite movies. Will Smith plays this unsuccessful father who turns his life around to provide for and teach his son. You will know how hard it is to make a living, especially when you have nothing but a child to take care. But you would also know how great a man would be if he could take care of his child well even he has to live in a church house. Work hard and never give up on the road of pursuing happiness, that’s what I leant from Smith in this movie.

    Fantastic Mr. Fox
Fantastic Mr. Fox is a stop motion animated feature based on Roald Dahl’s children’s novel of the same name. Mr. Fox retires from a life of stealing from local farmers when he discovers Mrs. Fox is pregnant. Two years later we find Mr. Fox struggling to relate to his son’s unique personality and plotting new adventures to spice up his life.

    Taken (2008)
Taken is a 2008 French thriller film produced by Luc Besson, starring Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen. The screenplay was written by Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, and directed by Pierre Morel. Neeson plays a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operative who sets about tracking down his daughter after she is kidnapped by human traffickers while traveling in France.

    National Lampoon’s Vacation
Chevy Chase plays this dad who will stop at nothing to give his family the vacation of their dreams. Sure, he’s embarrassing and his methods are extreme but he won’t let a little thing like the law keep his kids from having a good time.

  • Top 10 funniest office pranks and tricks best for April Fool’s Day

Posted on March 20th, 2012 David Brooks | 175 comments

Certain holidays seem to have been created for DIY-ers, and April Fools’ Day is certainly among them. April Fools’ Day has gotta be one of the best holidays as you can get to play nasty pranks and practical jokes on people around you in your office, your coworkers or your boss, and get away with it, to release the stress brought by work and life. But in office, you may feel a little bit hard to choose pranks and tricks on others, as improper pranks and tricks may bring inharmonious officice atmosphere. For better celebration of this relaxing festival and as the April Fool’s Day is just around the corner, here I would like to share you with some of the coolest tricks I collected to get you in the holiday spirit in your office. These pranks are funny and harmless. Check the following suggestions best for April Fool’s Day.

Happy April Fool's Day1. Roller Coaster: If a coworker’s office chair has a lever that adjusts its height, tie it with a piece of cord underneath the chair in its adjusting position. Once your coworker sits on the chair, it will slide all the way down, but as soon as they stand up, it will rise back all the way up.

    2. Important Papers: Take random papers from the recycling bin (it doesn’t matter what they way but it is better if they look important) staple pages together in random order and put them in a coworkers desk file drawer or their mailbox.  For better results, make a memo sheet (or a post-it) that says “Confidential” and watch the coworker going nuts trying to figure out what it means.

    3. It’s Possessed!: If you have a wireless mouse, plug the receiver into your coworkers computer (leaver their mouse plugged in).  Then periodically, as they are using the computer, use your mouse to slightly move the cursor on their screen.   If you have two coworkers’ computers in close proximity, just switch the cords around randomly (mouse, keyboard, monitors, etc.) and watch the coworkers go crazy trying to figure out what’s going on!

    4. Can You Hear Me?: Tape down the hook that presses down when the handset is in the cradle so when the phone starts ringing and they pick it up, it will keep ringing. For an extra effect, put a little piece of scotch tape over the microphone of the phone receiver.

    5. Fill the Boss’ Office to the Brim With Peanuts: Packing peanuts (or popcorn!) nearly to the ceiling of an coworker’s fancy, walled-off office. But when it comes down to actually planning the prank, there are a few practical challenges—like how to fill above the door without going through the roof, or the cost of a roomful of Styrofoam. With just a few sheets of paper, tape and a little ingenuity, you can very realistically simulate an office full of packing peanuts. While some pranks are really of the you-had-to-be-there variety, this one can be told in photos alone. The day before, set up after everyone leaves, and email an image to the victim—get ‘em shaking in their boots this April Fools’ Day.

    6. Lock Your Buddy’s Shopping Cart at Lunch: Shopping carts are often protected against theft by a wheel-locking mechanism that’s triggered when the vehicle leaves a store’s premises. A yellow line is painted around the perimeter of say, the local market where you and a colleague might eat lunch tomorrow, and buried underneath it is a cable that emits a changing magnetic field signaling the carts to lock.

    7. What’s That in Your Apple: For a fruity April Fool’s practical joke, get a few gummy worms and carefully poke them into fresh fruit, particularly apples. Give mom or dad a wormy apple for lunch and leave a few apples on the table for friends and family members to snack on.

    8. April Showers: If you have a sink with a sprayer, put a rubber band around the handle when nobody’s looking. This automatically keeps the nozzle in spray-mode. Make sure the nozzle is pointing up and outward. The next person to use the sink will get a splash! Too funny!

    9. Look What I can Do: Ask your victim, er.. friend to put a quarter on a piece of paper and, without removing their finger, trace the coin with a pencil. Repeat the “test” with a few fingers. After that’s done, get the victim to pick up the quarter and roll it along the bridge of their nose. Then quietly snicker behind their back as they walk around with a black line along their nose. Don’t use a permanent marker cuz that’s not cool.

    10. Let’s Prank’em: Send a coworker the e-mail below (Just don’t click on the link unless you want to spend 10 minutes closing annoying popup messages).  It works like magic if the victim is a known prankster. They will most likely fall victim of this prank while thinking they are about to prank someone else! In our book, this makes the following the funniest office prank of all. The email content should be “Copy-paste and e-mail them the following message: Hey, can you help me play this prank on someone in the office?”.

Remember, always use good judgment when playing pranks on coworkers (especially your boss) and make sure no harm is given to your victims. What are your April Fool’s Day pranks and tricks? Feel free to share your own pranks and tricks with me in the comment part.

  • Smart mobile phones for 2011 – Top 10 Smartphones of 2011

Posted on November 14th, 2011 David Brooks | No comments

It is nearly the end of 2011. In the smartphones market, we have to admit that 2011 has brought quite a few excellent smartphones to world mobile phone users, especially Apple’s iOS and Google Android smartphones, which are obviously the two leaders in the smartphone market. And besides these two OS advanced smartphones, there are still many other popular smartphones for 2011, like HTC Titan, Motorola Droid RAZR, Nokia N9, etc. And thanks to Matthew Miller, who has posted a Top 10 smartphones of 2011 (Holiday Gift Guide), we could get a clear list on the top smartphones of 2011. The bellow is the original content by Matthew Miller. Since the original post is too long, so I would just list the Top 10 Smartphones bellow. Check it for details.

    1: Apple iPhone 4S

iPhone 4SI participated in the ZDNet Great Debate for the Apple iPhone 4S, but readers overwhelmingly voted against it and many in the tech press stated it was not much of an upgrade. However, consumers responded in a big way and Apple had record opening weekend sales exceeding 4 million devices.

I became an iPhone owner again with the iPhone 4S on Verizon and am very happy with the device. The internals were bumped up with a dual-core processor, updated antenna design, and 8 megapixel camera. The Siri artificial intelligence utility is excellent and even in beta demonstrates a new way to interact with your device. I love that I can make appointments and set alarms with a few short words and the iPhone 4S is changing the way I use my smartphone. You can also SIM unlock the Verizon iPhone 4S for true world phone usage with Sprint and AT&T having slightly different policies. I used my iPhone 4S with my Truphone SIM in London and it worked very well.

The Apple iPhone 4S is available on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint for $199 (16GB), $299 (32GB), and $399 (64GB) with a two-year contract. The unsubsidized, no-contract prices range from $649 (16GB) to $849 (64GB), depending on your carrier.

    2: Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Samsung Galaxy NexusGoogle rolled out the Nexus One back in January 2010 as their flagship device that supports the latest Android operating system. The Nexus S was released last year and just last week Google and Samsung announced the Galaxy Nexus that will be coming to the U.S. with Verizon confirmed to get the device first before the end of this year.

Unlike the previous Nexus devices, there is really nothing missing in this latest device, including the latest wireless radios. The Galaxy Nexus sports a 4.65 inch 1280×720 Super AMOLED HD display (which is perfect for you to watch HD Blu-ray movies on Nexus), LTE and HSPA+ pentaband support, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), NFC, barometer, 1080p HD video camera, 1750 mAh battery and more. I have regularly ranted on this blog about the lack of pentaband 3G data support that currently only Nokia provides in true world phone fashion with support for frequencies in all ranges. Thankfully, the new Galaxy Nexus is a pentaband phone, with support for the 21 Mbps HSPA+ data network so it is highly likely I will be picking one up to use with T-Mobile USA.

There is no pricing or availability yet and it sounds like it will roll out in Europe and other countries first with a Verizon LTE model coming before the end of 2011. It’s not clear if we will see one launching on AT&T or T-Mobile here in the U.S.

    3: HTC Titan

HTC TitanReaders know I am a major Windows Phone fan and I know it hasn’t yet been adopted by a large number of Americans, but it really is fantastic and everyone I know that tries it out likes it. I was going to put one of the new Nokia Windows Phone devices here in 3rd, but none are coming to the U.S. this year so I am throwing in the HTC Titan that is coming to AT&T soon, likely in November. I finally had a chance to try out the HTC Titan this week and even though the display is huge, it is quite thin and extremely well made.

The HTC Titan has a massive 4.7 inch Super LCD display at the same standard 800×480 resolution that still looks crisp and clear. It has a 1.5 GHz processor, 16GB integrated storage, 512MB RAM, 1600 mAh battery, HSPA+ radio (up to 14.4 Mbps downloads), and 8 megapixel camera. HTC had done work with their cameras and it is actually quite good.

    4: Motorola Droid RAZR

Motorola Droid RAZRThe Motorola RAZR was an iconic device that launched at quite a high price and still sold millions. Motorola’s original DROID put Android on the map and launched it to its current success. They decided to launch a new RAZR based on the Android OS and what sets it apart from their current offerings is that it is the thinnest LTE device, and one of the thinnest Android devices, available.

The Motorola Droid RAZR has all of the latest specifications, including LTE radio, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, 4.3 inch 540×960 Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1780 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0, 8 megapixel camera, 16GB internal storage and microSD card slot.

The Motorola Droid RAZR will be available for $299.99 with a 2-year contract in November on Verizon Wireless.

    5: Nokia N9

Nokia N9The Nokia N9 is one of the saddest stories in the mobile world since the hardware and MeeGo operating system are fantastic and show a lot of promise, but the device is likely the last MeeGo device we will see from Nokia. If you check out all the other reviews online you will see that people love the Nokia N9. It is not available in very many countries and will not be sold by Nokia here in the U.S.

You can check out my<Nokia N9 first impressions and a follow-up article I posted on several tips, tricks, and FAQs. Specifications of the Nokia N9 include the MeeGo 1.2 (Harmattan) operating system, pentaband 3G radio, 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor, 3.9 inch FWVGA 854×480 pixels AMOLED display with anti-glare polarizer and Gorilla Glass integration, 1 GB RAM, 16 and 64 GB internal memory options, 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics, NFC, and more.

The Nokia N9 is only available in select countries, but can be found through importers from about $750 to $900 for the 16GB and 64GB models, respectively. I purchased my own 16GB blue N9 from a reseller on ebay.

    6: HTC Amaze 4G

HTC Amaze 4GOne of the complaints I have always had with HTC devices was the poor camera quality, but thankfully this area is being addressed by HTC in a big way. There is a lot of promotion and advertisement of the camera on the HTC Amaze 4G and as I posted in my camera roundup the Amaze 4G really is fantastic. In addition to the great camera, it is one of the best designed HTC smartphones I have ever held in my hand and feels like a very high quality device.

Specifications of the HTC Amaze 4G include Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, HSPA+ on T-Mobile at 42.2 Mbps, 4.3 inch qHD 540×960 pixels Super LCD display, 8 megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture lens and 1080p video recording capability, NFC, DLNA and HDMI, 1730 mAh battery, Bluetooth 3.0, and much more.

The HTC Amaze 4G is available now for $259.99 with a minimum voice and data plan with 2-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. The full retail price is $559.99 with no contract.

    7: LG Thrill

LG ThrillOne of the features shown off this year that seemed to be more gimmicky than anything is the glasses-free 3D display found on a few new smartphones. While it may seem a bit silly for day-to-day usage, it is actually fun to use and when I tested out the EVO 3D my daughters had a blast recording videos in 3D. The LG Thrill is not only one of the best 3D devices, it is also a solid high end Android device that competes with the best of them.

Specifications for the LG Thrill include a 4.3 inch glasses free 3D display, 1 GHz dual core processor, dual 5 megapixel cameras, 8GB integrated storage and microSD card, and HSPA+ support.

The LG Thrill is available now on AT&T for $99.99 with a 2-year contract. It is priced at $449.99 with no contract.

    8: Motorola Droid Bionic

Motorola Droid BionicThe Motorola Droid Bionic is one of the best LTE devices on Verizon Wireless and Jason Perlow made a great case for the device in comparison to the Apple iPhone 4S. The Droid Bionic sports a high resolution (540×960 pixels) 4.3 inch display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 8 megapixel camera, large capacity 1930 mAh battery, integrated 16GB of memory and microSD card slot, and support for the LTE network.

    9: Samsung Galaxy S II

Samsung Galaxy S 2The Samsung Galaxy S II was released several months ago in various countries and is just now making its way to the U.S. carriers. It is a very successful device and I enjoyed my time with the T-Mobile version. The Galaxy S II sports an amazing 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display (4.52 inches on T-Mobile and Sprint), dual-core 1 GHz processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, 8 megapixel camera, integrated memory and microSD card, 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, and more.

The Galaxy S II is a large device, but it is light and thin. The quality feels better than any previous Samsung Galaxy device I have used and I know people will be purchasing it in large numbers on the three U.S. carriers.

It is available on T-Mobile for $229.99 with a 2-year plan and $50 mail-in rebate ($529.99 with no contract) and on AT&T for Sprint’s model is known as Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch (what a crazy name, huh?) and comes with WiMAX, a 4.52 inch display, and 1.2 GHz processor with a contract price of $199.99 or $499.99 with no contract.

    10: BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930

BlackBerry Bold 9900I jumped on the BlackBerry Bold 9930 at launch and was excited about it for a couple of weeks before jumping back off the bandwagon and think RIM needs to step it up in 2012 to be competitive with the other mobile platforms. I enjoyed using the BlackBerry PlayBook with QNX-based operating system and there is a lot of promise for smartphones running this OS in 2012.

Specifications for the BlackBerry Bold 9930 include a 2.8 inch touchscreen display, a 1.2 GHz single core processor, 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, 8GB onboard storage with microSD card support up to 32GB, 768 MB RAM (something like 256MB is used for GPU), optical trackpad, promixity sensor, accelerometer, compass, and BlackBerry OS 7 that provides voice-activated universal search, new web browser, huge collection of pre-installed apps, and much more.

The Bold 9900/9930 has the BEST QWERTY keyboard ever on a device and if you are a hardware keyboard fan then you will enjoy using this device. It is quite expensive for a BlackBerry smartphone though with a price of $299.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate on T-Mobile (full no contract price is $599.99), $199.99 with contract on Sprint ($499.99 full retail price), and $249.99 on Verizon with a contract ($509.99 full retail price).

  • The Leaderboard of Top 10 hottest tablets in 2011

Posted on September 6th, 2011 David Brooks | 19 comments

The ZDNET author Jason Hiner made a Leaderboard for the top 10 hottest tablets in 2011 for people worldwide who might seek a good tablet. Read the post bellow and find your own favorite one. If you have any different opinions, make us know by putting your words on the Comment parts.

Summary: While tablets are the hot new thing, there are almost too many to choose from now. See our updated leaderboard of 10 tablets that are worth your attention.

Tablets are the technology’s industry’s latest gold rush. With Apple selling 15 million iPads in 2010 and projected to sell as many as 45 million in 2011, everyone wants a piece of the public’s sudden infatuation with multitouch slabs of silicon.  From the world’s biggest computer companies to obscure little parts makers, there have been an obscene number of companies releasing tablets this year and the number will only increase next year.

Which ones are safe to ignore and which ones are worth your attention? In February, I wrote a piece called The 10 hottest tablets to watch in 2011. Most of these tablets have finally come to market, a lot of them flopped, and other new tablets have popped up. In May, after reviewing many of these tablets, I wrote the first version of my leaderboard, with a lot of tablets moving up or down in the rankings.

Heading into the fall buying season, here is my updated assessment of the top tablets of 2011.

    2011 Top 10 Hottest tablets10. Motorola Xoom

Motorola XoomIn the past, when Google was ready to make a leap forward with Android, it anointed a hardware partner to produce a device that would be something of a concept vehicle for Google’s vision. For the Android 3.0 tablet OS, Motorola was the chosen one and the Xoom was that device. This 10-inch widescreen tablet launched with drool-inducing tech specs but the Android tablet software was incomplete and desperately needed more apps. The other big drawback was the price. It launched at $799 without a contract ($599 for Wi-Fi version). Today, you can get the Xoom for as low as $439 for the Wi-Fi version through Amazon. It’s still the most industrial-strength Android tablet on the market, but it’s also a little heavy and bulky compared to newer hardware. Read my full review.

    9. BlackBerry PlayBook

BlackBerry PlayBookI was at the event last fall where RIM announced the BlackBerry PlayBook and my first impressions were not very good — mostly because RIM kept it behind glass. However, after getting my hands on the final product, I was a lot more impressed. There are things to like about the PlayBook, especially for businesses that are already invested and committed to BlackBerry smartphones and the BES backend infrastructure. This is a 7-inch tablet, so that limits its appeal a bit — except for the vocal minority who like the smaller form factor. Still, the hardware feels great, the tablet OS is easy to figure out, and the performance is staggeringly good. It’s also one of the best tablets for Web browsing because of its excellent implementation of Flash, although the 7-inch screen is a drawback for trying to read text from most web pages. Also, if you don’t have a BlackBerry smartphone to tether to this one, then it’s difficult to recommend it over other tablets. Read my full review.

    8. HTC Flyer

HTC Flyer tabletOver half of the tablets on this list are powered by Android and HTC is one of the powerhouses of the Android ecosystem. Unlike rivals Motorola, Samsung, and LG, who all unveiled high-end tablets at CES 2011 in January, HTC was remarkably silent on the tablet question. However, this spring, HTC announced the Flyer, a 7-incher with a 1.5 GHz CPU, 1.0 GB RAM, 32GB of Flash storage, and a special version of the HTC Sense UI designed for tablets. The Sense UI is by far the best Android skin on the market and it doesn’t disappoint on the Flyer, even though it’s running on top of Android 2.2 and not Android 3.0. Also, unlike most of the other Android tablets, the Flyer includes digital ink technology and a stylus — and it’s an excellent implementation. Unfortunately, the Flyer hardware leaves a lot to be desired. It is thick, awkward to hold, and feels like an oversized smartphone.

    7. Acer Iconia Tab A500

Acer Iconia Tab A500Acer isn’t known for its innovative designs, and it doesn’t deliver one with this tablet, but the company does a decent job of delivering a lot of technology at a reasonable price. That’s what you get with the Acer Iconia Tab A500 — a 10-inch Android Honeycomb tablet with a dual-core Tegra2 processor, 1GB of RAM, dual cameras on front and back, and a price tag starting at $449. There’s nothing spectacular about this tablet, but it gives you plenty of hardware and features for the money.

    6. HP TouchPad

HP TouchpadA lot of people will think I’m being extremely generous by putting the TouchPad as high as number six since HP has officially killed product. But, if HP hadn’t killed it, I would have ranked the TouchPad No. 3 on the list (although keep in mind that my primary audience is people who use technology for business). Since HP is clearing out the TouchPad for $100 (16GB) and $150 (32GB) and you can still get them on eBay for $200-$300, this one still belongs on the list, for now. As I wrote in my review, the TouchPad actually trumps the iPad in productivity (especially messaging) and web browsing, but it lacks the entertainment and media options that most consumers want and the hardware feels cheap and clunky. Read my full review.

    5. B&N Nook Color

Nook ColorWhen the Barnes & Noble Nook Color e-reader got an update to Android 2.2 and its own app store earlier this year, it turned into a viable low-cost tablet. Some will argue against it, since it has a heavy-handed UI forced on top of Android and doesn’t run the full Android Market app store. But, I couldn’t leave this little 7-inch tablet off the list. It has a great form factor — thin and easy in the hands — and you can’t beat the price at $249. Plus, if you’re highly technical, you can hack it into a full Android tablet.

    4. ASUS Eee Pad Transformer

ASUS Eee Pad TransformerASUS believes that the iPad has two weaknesses — lack of choice and limited content creation ability — so that’s where the company has focused its attention in tablets. The Eee Pad Transformer is a 10-inch tablet with a dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU that runs Android 3.0. The most innovative thing about this one is that it has an optional keyboard dock that also functions as an extended battery, giving the device up to 16 hours of life. With the Transformer’s dock mode, ASUS has pulled off an Android tablet that also doubles as a laptop. Plus, the price is right. At $399, this tablet is one of the best values on the market, so it’s no surprise that it it sold out in the US on its first day of online sales.

    3. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1The original Samsung Galaxy Tab was a 7-inch tablet that jumped the gun on Android tablets before Google was ready, but it offered the first legitimate challenge to the original iPad. If it wasn’t so expensive ($600), it might have faired even better than the respectable sales numbers it posted. Samsung’s second try at the tablet market is a lot more potent. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a gorgeous piece of hardware. I usually don’t like Samsung’s plastic mobile hardware (it always feels cheap to me), but the Galaxy Tab 10.1 looks and feels great. It is razor-thin, light, and still feels sturdy. It has all the specs you’d expect for a high-end tablet — great screen, dual cameras, solid battery life, and a dual-core NVIDIA processor. The only drawback is the software. It runs Android Honeycomb with the Samsung Touchwiz UX, which adds very little, doesn’t have a very appealing UI, and doesn’t have all of the experimental features (like browser thumb controls) as stock Android. But, Samsung is making these tablets very friendly for enterprise buyers and it can run on Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

    2. The Amazon tablet

Amazon Tablet Adroid Okay, I realize that this tablet isn’t even out yet (or officially announced, for that matter), but a lot of what makes a tablet useful is not just the tablet itself but all of the services behind the scenes and Amazon is putting all the pieces in place to build its own Android tablet. In fact, it may be better positioned to compete with Apple than any of the other tablet makers because of its strengths in content and cloud computing. Amazon already had the Kindle e-book library and Web-based music and video stores, but in 2011 it has added the Amazon Appstore for Android and Amazon Cloud Drive. Since Amazon hasn’t made any official announcements yet, this tablet benefits from lots of positive speculation, but the stars are aligning for a formidable tablet product from the world’s e-commerce king. An Amazon tablet that draws on their design experience of the latest Kindle and is priced at under $300 would draw a lot of buyers away from the iPad. Again, although this is speculative, I think the Amazon tablet is destined to be No. 2 in the market by the end of 2011. If you’re thinking about buying a tablet this fall, you may want to wait until you see what Amazon announces.

    1. Apple iPad 2

Apple iPad 2The iPad remains the king of the category and, even with the invasion of an army of challengers, the iPad will retain a commanding market share lead when we get to the end of 2011. It still has too many factors in its favor: dead-simple usability, long battery life, a massive catalog of apps, and a respectable price. The last factor might be the most important. The iPad’s rivals have had a very hard time beating the iPad’s price tag while offering a comparable experience. The iPad 2 doesn’t offer any revolutionary changes over the original iPad. It’s thinner and lighter, has an upgraded processor and display, and adds front and rear cameras. It’s a nice refinement, and with its big advantages in apps and entertainment, it easily has enough value to keep it at the top of this list — even for business users, who want the apps for business tasks and the games and entertainment for plane rides (and to distract the kids once in a while). • Top 10 most anticipated upcoming tech products details and pictures

Posted on July 20th, 2011 David Brooks | 405 comments

Along with the fast development of technology in mobile phones and telecommunication devices, people have longed more for the future tech products and various high tech telecommunication companies become to upgrade their tech products faster, which enables worldwide users to experience totally different devices upon different tech products. And thanks to ZDNet Author, who has listed out some top 10 most anticipated upcoming tech products for us to make a brief understanding about these advanced tech devices. The following lists the 10 most anticipated upcoming tech products, originally released on zdnet.com.

    New MacBook Airs

    New MacBook Airs

The new MacBook Airs with updated Intel Sandy Bridge processors Core i series processor are due to hit any day along with OS X Lion. The new Airs are rumored to to feature a high-speed Thunderbolt port and perhaps a lighted keyboard while retaining the same form factor.

    Vizio XVT3D6SP series

    XVizio XVT3D6SP series

Back in January, the Vizio XVT3D6SP series was our Best of CES winner in the TV category. On top of offering passive 3D and a full-array LED backlight with local dimming, the XVT3D6SP series is loaded with features. Here’s what editor David Katzamier had to say about it:

“The Vizio XVT3D6SP series is billed as a complement to the company’s new Android phone and tablet. It boasts a custom Google TV interface and a beefed-up version of VIA (Vizio Internet Apps), our favorite Internet TV suite of last year. It also has a spiffy new remote that replaces a trendy touch screen with a much more useful touch pad, a la your favorite laptop PC. Finally it boasts passive 3D (see below) and all of the full-array local-dimming LED goodness we liked so much on the XVT3SV series. Oh yeah: it’s also the first TV announced with embedded OnLive gaming (video).”

    Samsung Nexus Prime

    Samsung Nexus Prime

Rumor has it that the Samsung Nexus Prime, due out late this year, will be the first smartphone to run Android Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Here’s what Scott Webster had to say about it on a post on CNET:

“Keeping with other Pure Google experience smartphones, the Nexus Prime is expected to be devoid of any carrier customization or pre-loaded applications. Rumors also have been swirling that the first Ice Cream Sandwich handset would also be notable for another absence, physical buttons. And given that the next iteration of Android blends parts of Honeycomb and Gingerbread, it’s very possible that any 4.0+ devices could operate without hard keys.

“The “monster-sized” screen will be branded as a “Super AMOLED HD” display, matching up with previous reports of a 720p resolution. For the sake of comparison, today’s top Android smart phones feature qHD screens that operate at 960×540 resolution, whereas mid-range devices now typically run with 800×480 resolution.”

Rumor has it that the Nexus Prime (or whatever name the device ends up with) will also have a next-generation dual-core processor running ion the 1.2-1.5 GHZ range.

    Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color

    Nook Color

While the Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color isn’t a full-fledged Android tablet (with Android Market) unless you root it and install custom firmware, it is the best-selling Android-based tablet out there right now, priced at a modest $249.

Before the holiday buying season we expect that Barnes & Noble will upgrade it, perhaps as soon as late October. We doubt the design will change dramatically (if at all), but we do think it will get a faster processor and some other small but significant improvements.

    Motorola Droid Bionic

    Motorola Droid Bionic

The Motorola Droid Bionic is due to hit very soon and will be among the few Verizon phones to work on the carrier’s new 4G LTE network. Overall, it has impressive specs, which CNET editor Nicole Lee summarized back at CES in January (watch her first-look video):

“Aside from 4G and the dual-core processors, the Droid Bionic also has 512MB DDR2 RAM; HDMI mirroring (so you can view video on both the phone and the TV when they’re connected); 1080p video playback; 8-megapixel camera on the rear plus a front-facing VGA camera for video calls; Wi-Fi, of course; mobile Wi-Fi hot spot for up to five devices (subject to carrier fees); and since it ships with Android 2.2, the WebKit browser also plays in-browser Flash video.

    Amazon touch-screen Kindle

    Amazon Touch-screen Kindle

Will Amazon put out a touch-screen Kindle? Or will it release an even more affordable non-touch model to follow up on the success of the Kindle 3? Speculation is heating up as we head into August, which is when Amazon revealed the Kindle 3 last year.

    iPod touch

    iPod Touch

It doesn’t seem like there’s much more that Apple can do with the iPod Touch, but there’s talk of an added 3G option (you’ll have to pay for service) and the possibility of a jumbo Touch that might also qualify as an iPad Mini.

    Sony PlayStation Vita

    Sony PlayStantion Vita

Sony’s next portable gaming console, the PlayStation Vita, ups the ante in terms of graphics and features. But it remains to be seen whether the $249 Vita (or $299 with 3G) will be a hit after Sony experienced such a tepid reception for the PlayStation Go.

Due to hit this fall, the Vita has built-in WiFi, dual joysticks, multitouch 5-inch OLED screen, front and rear touchpads, and front and rear cameras.

    Amazon Android tablet

    Amazon Android Tablets

Rumor has it that Amazon will be releasing two new Android tablets by year’s end. The smaller model may have a 7-inch screen and be something along the lines of the Nook Color but feature a more powerful processor (and be aggressively priced). A larger 10-inch model will allegedly be designed to compete with the iPad.

    Apple iPhone 5

    Apple iPhone 5

Will the iPhone 5 have an all new design or simply retain the iPhone 4′s chassis and offer such upgrades as a faster A5 processor and improved camera? And will it be a true 4G phone? At this point, no one knows for sure but all signs point to a Fall release date for the next-generation iPhone, whatever it’s called.
