With the popularity of high-definition movies, it’s a trend for Blu-ray movie to replace the traditional DVD movies. With higher resolution and video quality, Blu-ray opens a totally different HD era to movie fans. Without question, with the popularity of Blu-ray, Blu-ray shrink, or in other words Blu-ray backup, has also being needed from public.

Simply speaking, Blu-ray backup is the process people copy and backup Blu-ray contents from a Blu-ray disc to computer hard disk or a new blank Blu-ray disc without quality loss. During the whole process, the size of Blu-ray content might stay the same. Different from the traditional Blu-ray backup, Blu-ray shrink technology helps people to copy and backup Blu-ray content to computer hard disk or a blank disc (either Blu-ray disc or DVD disc) without quality loss but with size reduced. Currently, Blu-ray shrinkers on Leawo assist people in shrinking Blu-ray discs in two ways:

Shrink BD50 to BD25: In this case, Leawo Blu-ray Copy (Win/Mac) is applied to shrink a BD 50 size Blu-ray disc onto a blank BD 25 disc, no matter the original Blu-ray disc is a regular 2D Blu-ray, or a 3D one.
