Problem with the Free AVI Converter

Hi. I recently downloaded the free converter to test it out. I have 2 video files, 1 mkv and 1 mp4 files with subtitles embedded. I have no problem converting the mp4 file but that is not the case with the mkv video. I get picture but no sound or subtitles. With the mp4 video, I was able to get a very good avi file with video, audio and subtitles. What is the problem?

Now please download the trial version of the Video Converter from http://www.leawo.com/leawo-video-converter/ , you can try File-Add Video Files with Quicktime/Directshow, and set the File Type as "All Supported Files", then add the MKV file to try.

I typed "All Supported Files" , but before I could add anything it crashed.
