• Will October 4th become the big day for Apple and Apple fans with the arrival of iPhone 5

Posted on September 22nd, 2011 David Brooks No comments

Apple iPhone 5 has been a long concern among the world. People have highly anticipated worldwide for what excellent performance AppleApple iconiPhone 5 would bring out. The most reliable date about the release of iPhone 5 is October 4th, while the new CEO Tim Cook will take the stage to host the unveiling. We also believe that the iPhone 5 would be the first big event the new CEO Tim Cook is going to bring to Apple fans. Zack Whittaker from ZDNet had written a post on the information about October 4th event upon the Apple iPhone 5. Read the following reports for the detailed information.

Reports are circulating around the media wires this morning that Apple’s new chief executive, Tim Cook, will take to the stage and announce ’something’.

John Paczkowski with the Wall Street Journal’s AllThingsD network, says that Apple’s next event will be held on October 4, where it is most likely that the next-generation iPhone 5 smartphone will be unveiled.

Hedging on the side of caution, Paczkowski has long claimed through sources of his own that the launch will be in October. Sources say that the iPhone will be made available for purchase within a few weeks after the announcement.

Update: As Jason Hiner, editor-in-chief of TechRepublic, ZDNet’s sister site, points out, the Moscone Center where previous launches have been made is “booked out” for Oracle on October 4th. Apple previously used the Moscone for WWDC 2011 earlier this year. Whether this means the October 4th date is a busted flush, or it means Apple already has another venue in mind, it is yet to be known.

There has been wide speculation over the device, which is believed to have changed in screen size and dimensions. Other leaks point to a radical new design, whereas leaked device cases show that the smartphone will remain widely the same.

The truth is: Apple has done it again. We have no real idea what the next-generation iPhone will look like.

Apple iPhone 5But while consumers will be looking for the new iPhone, as the highly anticipated Christmas and holiday season seller of the year, analysts and journalists will be looking at Tim Cook, who replaced Steve Jobs over the summer after he resigned from the company.

Cook will be in charge of the event, and no doubt will take to the stage as Apple’s new chief executive to announce the device. He has to be — he’s the boss. But Cook has never done this before, and will no doubt be aided by other executives to make their own announcement.

But as this may be Cook’s first presentation to the world, it has not been his first major challenge as chief executive.

Late last month, an Apple employee reportedly lost an iPhone 5 prototype in a bar in San Francisco. Bad luck struck twice, only a year after the Gawker media storm after the iPhone 4 was sold to the media company. A huge controversy began when Apple security staff alleged to have impersonated police officers when searching the suspect’s home, when the device ended up in someone else’s hands.

Though Steve Jobs continues to serve as chair of the Apple board, Tim Cook has already had a tough couple of months. Nevertheless, for consumers, the iPhone 5 will be the prime focus for the day.

  • Latest news for Apple iPhone 5: Being available for pre-order from Germany’s Deutsche Telekom

Posted on September 6th, 2011 David Brooks No comments

The latest news from Bloomberg introduced that Deutsche Telekom AG (DTE) will allow customers to reserve the next generation of Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iPhone as of today in anticipation of supply bottlenecks for the device, spokesman Alexander von Schmettow said by phone. The operator will hand out coupons to people who expressly request the successor model to the iPhone 4, without providing the name or release details of the device, he said.

Apple iPhone 5The Deutsche Telekom AG is the parent company of T-Mobile USA. By now, there is no confirmed release date, price, specifications or any other information from Apple on the successor to the iPhone 4. Even the name of the next iPhone is still not confirmed, as some call it iPhone 5, but others rumor it will be named iPhone 4S. And what we could be sure now is that most people anticipate the device would come out in late September or early October into market. And from the popular rumors about the next Apple iPhone, as for the specifications, the iPhone 5 would adopt the latest A5 processor, higher screen resolution and large screen display, which brings even greater digital entertainment, like watching HD Blu-ray movies on iPhone 5 or DVD movies on iPhone 5.

The pre-order move is being made instead “in anticipation of supply bottlenecks” whenever Apple does announce and then ship a next-generation iPhone, Alexander von Schmettow, a Deutsche Telekom spokesman, told Bloomberg.

    Micro-HDMI out
Right now you need Apple’s $39 Digital AV to send HD video or audio to a TV or monitor but a a built-in Micro-HDMI port, similar to the ones available in Android smartphones, would only cost a $5 cable. Chances of implementation: 2 percent. Photo credit: Apple

    Expandible memory
Another fat chance. Chances of implementation: 1 percent. Photo credit: Kingston

    Biometric security
Taking security to the next level where you can unlock your phone with a finger swipe instead of a password. Chances of implementation: 25 percent. Photo credit: Apple

    NFC-enabled (near field communication technology)

  • Apple iPhone 5 new rumors: release date shifted to October with unexpected bigger upgrade?

Posted on August 3rd, 2011 David Brooks No comments

There have been abundant of rumors for the next generation of Apple iPhone, and since the absence of iPhone 5 release in Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference this June, people around the world have been more zealously in seeking the specifications and the accurate release date of the next iPhone. The most popular saying supports that Apple would release the iPhone 5 in middle September, possibly between September 6 and 15. However, this saying is now facing with challenges due to an October iPhone 5 surprise guess. The latest rumor suggests that the iPhone 5 release date has been shifted to October, with unexpected bigger upgrade than previous rumors anticipated.

    Apple iPhone 5

The previous rumors all support that Apple is reportedly prepping for a launch of the iPhone 5 sometime between September 6 and 15. And according to China Times that suppliers are currently preparing 400,000 trial run iPhone 5 units with an initial shipment slated at 4 million units, it is great credible for this. However, a recent report from All Things D‘s John Paczkowski claims earlier rumors that the iPhone 5 will be unveiled in mid-September are bogus, quoting instead “sources with knowledge of the situation” saying the next-generation iPhone will be an October surprise, though no hard release date offered. This is much proved by a report which indicated AT&T has blacked out employee vacations during the last two weeks of September, in preparation for the iPhone 5 debut.

As for the specs of the next Apple iPhone, Analyst Shaw Wu with Sterne Agee recently reported that the iPhone 5 would come with bigger upgrade than previous anticipations. He mentioned that the iPhone 5 would feature a larger screen display than that of iPhone 4’s 3.5 inch screen and thinner body design, together with the dual-core A5 processor, iOS 5 operation system, at least 8MP camera for shooting, a Qualcomm dual mode GSM/CDMA baseband, etc.

It is reported that the iPod conference would not only make anniversary upgrade to iPod Touch, iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle, but several new revolutionary mobile phone products going to be released as well, which we called new iPhone.

SAI said that according to their insider news, the high-end iPhone 5 (maybe named as iPhone 4GS) would continue its advantageous screen display with screen resolution of 1024*768 as iPad 2 owns, and 4 inch edge-to-edge screen design, while the other two versions of iPhone 5 are made for middle and low-end market with screen display respectively at 3.5 inch and 3 inch.

    Rip Blu-ray to iPhone 5

And also, news from an executive of Swisscom also proves this, who said that the new iPhone 5 would adopt edge-to-edge screen design, A5 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8MP camera. The US market release date is September 5th while the released date in Switzerland is October 5th.

Still, no response from Apple, and we have to wait for the conference’s arrival. More info would be provided here, stay tuned.
