  • How to Return or Exchange Your Faulty Samsung Galaxy Note 7?

Posted on September 19th, 2016 admin No comments

Due to battery issue, Samsung has officially recalled its Galaxy Note 7 globally starting September. According to Samsung, 35 separate incidents have resulted in a Note 7’s battery catching fire. Sales have stopped, and all devices already sold will be replaced by the company.

If you have got a faulty Note 7 and have no idea on how to return or exchange the phone, you can check out the post as it lists different instructions for each carrier.

    Go through Samsung:

Samsung will give Note 7 users the option to exchange a recalled model for a brand-new (and fixed) unit. Any Note 7 sold before September 15 is impacted by the recall, and should be treated as such. If you’re unsure about your device, you can use the IMEI checking tool on Samsung’s recall site.

Alternatively, users can exchange the Note 7 for a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge instead of a Note 7, complete with a refund of the difference in price between the two devices. Samsung will also allow users to exchange Note 7-specific accessories, should they choose this option.

Samsung advises users to return the device to the retail outlet at which the device was originally purchased, or call 1-800-SAMSUNG to initiate the exchange directly with Samsung.

Customers will also receive a $25 gift card or bill credit for the inconvenience. More details can be found on Samsung’s website, by visiting a dedicated webpage for the Note 7 recall.

    Verizon Wireless:

Verizon customers can return the Note 7, with Verizon waiving the restocking fee through September 30. “Because customer safety is our top priority, Verizon has stopped selling the Galaxy Note 7,” the carrier said in a statement.

    Sprint:

Sprint’s CEO Marcelo Claure posted a statement on Twitter detailing Sprint’s plan of attack for the recall. For current Note 7 owners, you should visit your local Sprint store to return your Note 7. Sprint will give you a “similar device” to use until Samsung is able to fix the issue and sales of the Note 7 resumes.

    AT&T:

The company is “strongly encouraging” customers to exchange the Note 7 and any accessories purchased with it. “Samsung has notified us that they have identified a battery cell issue in certain Galaxy Note7s. They have asked all retailers, including AT&T, to stop selling the device. Because safety is our top priority, customers are strongly encouraged to exchange the Samsung Note7 for a new device. Customers with a Note7 may select a new smartphone, and may also return any Note7 accessories.”

    T-Mobile:

T-Mobile will issue complete refunds for the Note 7, including any accessories purchased with the device. The company is also waiving any restocking or shipping fees during the exchange process. Visit your local T-Mobile store or call 1-800-937-8997 to initiate the process. T-Mobile expects to have replacement Note 7s “in the next two weeks,” according to a statement published on its website.

    Best Buy:

If you purchased a Note 7 from Best Buy, you can return the device to the store for a full refund. Here is Best Buy’s official statement: We have stopped selling the Samsung Note7. Customers can visit a Best Buy store to return or exchange their device, without a restocking fee. Customers will have the option to replace it with a new Note7 when they become available.

  • The First Weekend’s Sales of iPhone 7 Roughly in Line with iPhone 6S

Posted on September 19th, 2016 admin No comments

According to early analytics data, the first weekend of iPhone 7 sales seems to have been on track with past iPhone launches, especially for iPhone 6s released in Sept. 2015.

The iPhone 7 achieved 1 percent adoption in Localytics tracking of iPhones, with the 7 Plus accounting for another 0.2 percent. That’s roughly equivalent to what the iPhone 6s line achieved in Sept. 2015, the only difference being greater adoption of the 6s Plus at 0.3 percent. The iPhone 6 managed 2 percent in Sept. 2014, with the 6 Plus coming in at 0.3. 2013’s iPhone 5s — which didn’t have a Plus model — hit 0.9 percent during its launch weekend.

iPhone 7 sales could be significantly higher, since its data only reflects the number of people who already have a device and are using apps. Delivery times for online preorders quickly extended into weeks or even months, an Apple took the unusual step of saying that some models wouldn’t be available at stores on launch day.

As the hottest topic this September for Apple fans, iPhone 7 is attracting more and more iPhone users to switch from an old iPhone to iPhone 7. After switching to the new devices, the main problem may be how to transfer data from old iPhone to iPhone 7. In order to solve the issue, Leawo Software rolled out a iPhone transfer software to help transfer data between two iOS devices.

  • 10 New Features of iOS 10 Worth the Upgrade

Posted on September 12th, 2016 admin No comments

Apple released iOS 10 on September 7, 2016, together with the latest iPhone (iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus), and Apple Watch 2. Many iOS users have no idea whether or not to upgrade their devices to iOS 10. Actually, iOS is packed with useful features that will give your iPhone or iPad a much-needed refresh. Here is a look at 10 new features of iOS 10.

    #1: Raise to wake

The first thing you’ll notice when you pick up your phone is that the lock screen turns on without your even touching the home button. The new raise-to-wake feature uses the M9 co-processor on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus to detect motion so you can check the time and notifications on the fly. To turn off the feature, go the “Display and brightness” option in the Settings page, and click on the raise-to-wake switch.

    #2: Quick camera launch

Launching the camera app from your lockscreen is even faster in iOS 10. Just swipe left from the main page to capture that candid shot.

#3: Sort photos by faces and places

The photo app in iOS 10 automatically sorts through your endless reel and organizes your shots based on places and people in the Albums tab. Or you can really narrow down your search by date, place or person using the search feature at the top of this page. To assign a name to a face, just click on a picture where that person appears, press Details, People and Add name at the top.

    #4: Hide stock apps

Apple finally lets you get rid of those useless apps cluttering your home screen in iOS 10. Delete as you would any other app: Press and hold on the app icon until it begins to shake and hit the X to remove. This won’t get rid of the app for good, but at least it will remain hidden until you redownload in the App store.

    #5: 3D-touch Control Center

Apple doesn’t let you customize your Control Center yet, but at least you’ll have more shortcuts to chose from on this screen. If you have an iPhone 6S or 6S Plus you can 3D-touch the icons at the bottom to pull up a new list of options without leaving the page, or slide left to access the music remote.

    #6: Voice mail transcription

Next time you get a missed call from an unknown number, don’t bother listening to the voice mail. iOS 10 gives you a full transcription of the message directly from your Voicemail tab in the phone app. Click on the name or number in this screen to open the transcription and share it as an email or text from the share icon at the top. The transcription is not perfect, and it’s only available in English at the time when this article was written.

    #7: Bilingual keyboard

If you type in more than one language, chances are this feature will save you from an autocorrect nightmare. Once you’ve installed the keyboard languages you want in the Settings, the Messages app will automatically detect which one you are typing to save you from having to switch manually from the globe icon.

    #8: Live links in messages

Another practical feature in the Messages app that lets you preview a link without leaving the chat window. Paste the URL in the chat bubble and send. The app automatically renders a thumbnail preview with the title, or the full video player if it’s a YouTube link.

#9: Use Siri with third-party apps

Voice control has become much more useful in iOS 10 now that Siri can control more than just Apple’s own apps. Some of the third-party apps with Siri integration at launch include Square Cash, WhatsApp, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

    #10: Lyrics!

Apple music now lets you belt out your favorite Adele song right from the app. Start playing the song, click on the song bar at the bottom to maximize and scroll down until you see the lyrics. Not all songs have this option at the time we wrote this article.
