• 12 New features in Mozzila release candidate version of Firefox 5, while Firefox 5 to be revealed on June 21th

    The Mozilla Project on Wednesday released the candidate versions of its Firefox 5 browser for both desktops and mobile (both are available for download from the project’s Future of Firefox” page) before the final Firefox 5 to be released on June 21th, while the Firefox 6 is reported to be unleashed in August. The desktop software, as the seventh beta version, was released into the project’s beta development channel as part of Mozilla’s new rapid release development process. The mobile version for Android was released simultaneously.

    Here is a list of some new features included by the candidate version of Mozzila Firefox 5:

    Added the support for CSS flash.

    Optimized Do-Not-Track tool to increase discoverability.

    Improved performance in canvas, JavaScript, memory and networking.

    Improved standards support for HTML5, XHR, MathML, SMIL and canvas.

    Improved spell-checking for some locales for Linux users.

    Better desktop environment integration for Linux users.

    More quickly background tabs loading.

    Removed Firefox development channel switcher.

    WebGL content is no longer allowed to load cross-domain textures.

    Fixed a raft of bugs for Android.

    Improved page loading speed, especially on 3G networks.

    Added IPv6 support for Android.
