Conversion

Q 1: Your program told me "Conversion failed, please contact our technical support". What should I do?
A: The following scenario may produce the conversion failure error:
1. Pop-up error window and the like. When you open your Presentation Slides in PowerPoint, an error window or something likewise pops up. This may be out of two main reasons.
One is that something is wrong with your PowerPoint. Hence, you need to go to "Add or remove programs" to repair your Office or PowerPoint.
The other reason is that your PPT(X) or PPS file is password-protected. At this point, you need to save it as a new file without write protection.
2. Anti-virus program stopped conversion. Some anti-virus program may cause conversion failure. Please turn off all anti-virus programs before you start converting, and then turn it on when the conversion is finished.
3. Out of memory. During conversion, the software requires a big amount of system memory; please close other programs before conversion, especially when your computer is not in good performance.
4. Some PowerPoint add-ins or video decoder may cause conversion failure. Try to uninstall all your PowerPoint add-ins before conversion. Meanwhile, we are trying our best to improve compatibility of our program. If you find any add-in that causes a conversion failure, please inform us via e-mail.
5. If you have some third-party video or audio encoders installed on your computer, please remove them first. Then convert the presentation again.
If the possible solutions mentioned above do not work, please send us an email including the following information: screenshots of the conversion failure info, your computer's hardware info (CPU, total memory, free space of hard drive) and software info (OS edition, PowerPoint version).

Q 2: How to fix the failed error of every attempt to convert a PPS file?
A: Leawo PowerPoint to DVD Pro is able to convert your PPS or PPSX files to DVD.
As you know, thumbnails of every imported file would display on the title menu. Hence, when you import PPS, PPSX or files with password, the PPT to DVD tool will open PowerPoint to get thumbnails, and you will see a dialog too. Do NOT close PowerPoint. Otherwise the import or the conversion may fail.
Besides, you can choose to save your PPS or PPSX file as PPT or PPTX format and remove the password if any. And then convert it again.
If neither of the mentioned solutions helps, please contact our support center by phone, email or online chat.

Q 3: I get the error message including Error opening C:\Users\Owner\Documents\PowerPoint to DVD Pro\Output\dvd_2008…./VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.VOB: Bad address during conversion. What should I do?
A: As to this error message, please set a simple path for the output folder like "D:\Output" on the interface of "Options\Output Options\Folder\".

Q 4: I get the below error message: 1. ERROR: Failed to DVD Authoring. 2. ERROR: Err writing data. What's going on?
A: Please set the working folder and output folder on the interface of "Options\Output Options\Folder\" to another disc of your computer.

Q 5: When I play my writable disc on my DVD player, the menu music is playing intermittently. How could I solve it?
A: One reason for this issue is that the disc you burnt is a DVD with lower read speed than regular ones. Another possible reason is that the quality of the disk you are using is not good enough.

Q 6: What can I do if my home DVD Player can't recognize the DVD I just burnt?
A: We recommend using a DVD-R disc of which the compatibility is better.
Also note that some model DVD players of certain brands do not support DVD+RW and DVD-RW, which means all discs burnt by a PC burner cannot be played on them.

DVD Burning

Q 1: Why the burnt DVD disc cannot be played on my DVD machine?
A: There are three possible conditions that may cause the problem:
1. Try to play it on your computer. If the burnt DVD disc can be played on your computer, then it is probably because your DVD machine does not support the recordable DVD/CD disc.
There are 7 recordable DVD/CD discs available, respectively as DVD+R9 Dual Layer, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R and CD-RW. The DVD+R9 Dual Layer disc has the biggest capacitance among all, i.e. 8.4GB, while other recordable DVD discs are assumed to 4.7 GB. The recordable CD disc has only 700MB. Different DVD machines have different compatibility of the recordable discs. You may refer to the manual of your DVD machine to make clear of which DVD disc it supports. From our test, we find recordable DVD drive also matters. The suggestion is, if you used DVD-/+RW that cannot be played, change to DVD-/+R; if you used DVD+R/+RW that cannot be played, change to DVD-R/-RW; and vice versa.
Usually, DVD+RW features better compatibility.

2. If the burnt disc cannot be played on your computer, it is probably because the disc has not been burnt or the burning process is failed. We suggest you to save the created DVD image to hard drive first, and then use a third-party burning program like Nero. To create a DVD image file, do the following:
A. Launch Leawo PowerPoint to DVD Pro, and select DVD as the output option;
B. On the Burn option, check the option Create DVD image file, specify the output location of the ISO file, and then click Start to convert presentations to DVD image.
C. When conversion finished, launch your burning software.

3. Wrong DVD norm. Please change the DVD norm to the other--NTSC or PAL.

Q 2: Why does the program require free disk space as large as 9GB while processing my PPT file?
A: The required large free space of hard drive has something to do with the animation of PowerPoint file. While converting to DVD, Leawo PowerPoint to DVD Std produces a large number of temporary files, which could be unexpectedly large. These temporary files will be automatically deleted when conversion finishes.
Intel Core 2 2GHz or equivalent and RAM 512MB or above are recommended to assure good output quality. Leawo will continuously optimize the conversion efficiency in the future version.

Q 3: I have burned the PowerPoint to DVD. It runs on one of my DVD players, but on two others, it doesn't recognize the disc and won't run. Any ideas?
A: This problem occurs out of the improper DVD norm. Please change the DVD norm to the other - NTSC or PAL.
