Issue when converting SBS to red/cyan

Postby Rigo.cl on Tue Jul 10, 2012 3:44 am

Hi there, I just downloaded version 5.2.0.0 to try the product before buying, but I get a strange behavior when trying to convert from MKV 3D HD 720p SBS (Side by Side) to MP4 red/cyan, this is because I have a non 3D LCD and wanted to watch the movie from an external hard drive attached to the TV with normal red/cyan glasses. The thing is that the conversion process creates a MP4 file which is still SBS, with both images in red/cyan format, the right one and the left one, obviously what I wanted to get was a converted MP4 with just one image (merged from the two images from the SBS) being red/cyan.

Besides, if I load the new MP4 (SBS) into the converter and activate the "Side by Side" option from the drop down menu at the "3D Settings" windows, I end up with four images in the preview window. :o

Seems like the video converter is not recognizing SBS format, so when aplying red/cyan option, it converts both images, keeping the SBS format, when it is supposed to merge those two images in just one red/cyan image.

Am I doing something wrong?

Well, after all my writing, I figure out that may be it had been just a simple "does this version of the converter supports SBS format?". :D

Regards.

Hello,
Thanks for your information.
We are sorry to tell that you can add the 3D effect of the input videos, but you can't remove the 3D effect then convert it to other 3D effect. We are sorry about it. We'll keep researching and developing, and will try to add this function in future version, please kindly keep an eye on Leawo software.
Have a nice day!

Ok, if we think about it, the best results to getting a real red/cyan 3D film can be obtained from a SBS source, rather than from a "normal" HD video. But I understand the point, I'll add this feature in the "whish" post.

Thanks for your time.

Rodrigo.
