would this be a better choice to convert my .mts files to be compatible for use with imovie06, and is there one of these that would also compress the files as they converted them? my issue is the project i am working with is currently taking 4 dvds as the end product, after trimming and removing unnecessary files and we need to get it to where it only takes 1, maybe 2 at the most. thank you

I got the program thinking it would be great to convert some mts files, but i was wrong. i recorded a ten minute video, and I have a major issue with the conversion, it just doesnt work. am I doing something wrong? trying to get help from somewhere is horrible!!!!!! I am trying to figure out a way to convert a .mkv video file, with 6 channel audio, into an .m4v file and retain the 6 channel audio. I've tried many converters, and though many of them have been able to convert the video clearly, the audio never comes out with the true 6 channel audio. Has anyone figured out how to keep the discrete 5.1 surround sound audio when converting?
