Cropping output video in new version

Postby courtneypmbowie1 on Sat Aug 07, 2010 10:30 pm

There doesn't seem to me an option to manually crop the output video in the new version of the DVD ripper like there was in the previous version. The only crop options I can see are the default "Letterbox", "Full Screen", and "Pan&Scan", but no "custom" option anymore. I would like to get rid of the black bars on the top and bottom of my videos when doing "16:9" aspect ratio but I can't. Is there going to be an update with a "manual/custom" crop option in the near future like before?

Hello,
Thanks for your support in our software.
Please choose "Pan&Scan" to see the effect. You could also drag the dashed in the preview window to crop the black bars of your video.
We will consider adding the option of "manual/custom" crop in the future.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Best regards,

I dont think you understand what I was saying... I dont want to crop the input video because I would then lose part of the scene in the output video.

maybe this will help to explain better

I took screencaps of what happens when I apply each "zoom" feature using 16:9 video aspect (including the "Pan&Scan" effect you suggested)

Letterbox

Full screen

Pan&Scan

As you can see none of the zoom options in the latest version (3.0.0.0) let me crop out the top/bottom bars like the old version did and/or still have the entire "scene" in output video without having to crop parts out.

The new version did not fix anything. There are still black bars on the top and bottom of the video no matter what option i use. Also, if i try the 4:3 aspect ratio the black bars on the top and bottom disappear but then there are black bars on the left and right side. No zoom option gets rid of those either.

May i suggest considering changing your aspect and crop design to one mimicking AVS Video Converter's? (I am not getting paid at all for saying this, its from personal experince and use of their product). Their video may be not as good as yours and "grainer", but at least they have the video aspect and cropping design correct. Honestly if it wasn't for their poorer output video quality and no option of "chapter ripping" i would just use their ripper/ converter. I only have to buy one product to rip any video or dvd i want. I highly suggest you look into making some major changes to your products like they have.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestions. We have sent you a new program. Please kindly download it at https://www.yousendit.com/download/UFVw ... YU5jR0E9PQ to install. Please set the Aspect ratio as “Auto”, and set the Video Size as the one looks like the black bars were cropped.

Any other questions, please feel free to contact us.
