• Leaked pictures confirm the appearance of next Apple iPhone?

Posted on May 30th, 2012 David Brooks No comments

The rumors about the next Apple iPhone begin to boost with the approaching of the WWDC 2012. A lot of eyes are focusing on the detailed phone specs and exact release date of the next generation of Apple iPhone. The tech blog 9to5mac.com on Tuesday just forwarded some leaked pictures of the next Apple iPhone, which were claimed to be from reliable Chinese parts supplier who is actually selling these parts. The leaked pictures could be the back plate for the upcoming new iPhone or one of the early prototypes people are talking about worldwide. From the leaked pictures, it’s very easy to tell that the next Apple iPhone owns a very similar appearance to that of iPhone 4S, but larger screen and thinner phone body. The iPhone 5 uses aluminum material with colorful panels on bottom and upper.

iPhone 5 balck white By carefully looking into the picture, the leaked part does follow a lot of the rumors and speculations, like the smaller dock connector at the bottom and thinner overall appearance. We are told the extra space on the bottom is used by Apple to enhance the speakers that will be louder and of a higher quality than the current iPhone. The supplier said the back plate is just one piece anchored by an aluminium alloy (not liquidmetal).

The screen resolution is said to be 1136 x 640, with a screen size of 3.999 inches (diagonally), which excellently turns it to be a good choice of watching HD movies on iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 black white coverTaking the strict secret keeping policies of Apple into consideration, these pictures could, or could not, be the next iPhone. All the truths are still to be seen until the official release of Apple iPhone 5. But we all hope Apple would bring the world not only a smartphone with new appearance, but also some other practical functions like NFC, iOS 6, A6 processor, better battery, 4G network connectivity, better camera, etc.

  • 20 Rumors on Apple iPhone 5: A Roundup of Apple iPhone 5 Rumored Specs, Release Date and Possibility for Each Rumors

Posted on June 25th, 2011 David Brooks No comments

Through the Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, we have got the top 10 hot features of iOS 5, now the Apple WWDC has past for days and it would be the right time to get our attention back to the next generation of Apple iPhone, the iPhone 5. Four years ago, Apple released iPhone in summer without any notices, which makes sense that a release in September of Apple iPhone 5 would be a deterministic event of Apple. And after the closing of WWDC 2011, there emerges various rumors on iPhone 5, and here I have collected a roundup of rumors on the specs and release date of Apple iPhone 5 and made a prediction about the possibility of various rumors.

    Apple iPhone 5

The following are the rumors I collected in the past few days:

    1. iPhone 5 adopts larger edge-to-edge screen. (Somewhat possible)

It is possible as the competitors of Apple iPhone, like the main trend phones of Android OS, all adopts delectable 4 inch large screen, which makes it reasonable for people to rumor a larger edge-to-edge screen on iPhone 5 to pander to the trend of the times.

    2. Support for 4G network connectivity. (Seems impossible)

Apple had spent a whole year for the 3G network connectivity support. 4G network connectivity has been anticipated for long to make a smooth support on the new iPhone. Maybe Apple would make it possible for iPhone 5 with 4G network connectivity to optimize its performance.

    3. Support for both Verizon and AT&T. (Much possible)

Some people predicted that the iPhone 5 would become a “global” communication device, which means the support for both CDMA and GSM network. This also means, you could get an iPhone 5 capable of both Verizon and AT&T.

    4. More selling points of iOS 5 before official marketing. (Much possible)

iOS 5 indeed appears to be great, yet still needs more to be perfect: adding third-party plugs, dimensional sound control, absence of 3G network supported Facetime, etc. And before the official market release in September, Apple still gets enough time to perfect iOS 5.

    5. Dismiss the HOME button. (Impossible)

Maybe Apple would change the phone design scheme, just like what Android did before, to dismiss the frontal physical buttons. Then all applications would be in control under a touch button.

    6. Configure camera capable of HD video shooting. (Seems possible)

The 5MP camera on iPhone 4 didn’t provide quite nice HD video shooting experience for users. There are reports that an 8MP camera is capable of 1080P HD video shooting. In the market of smart mobile phones today, many Android phones own 8MP camera for 1080P HD video shooting. According to the configuration standard of Apple iPhone cameras, 5MP camera on iPhone 5 seems to be reasonable. However, the existing market has made it hopeful for us to expect an 8MP camera on iPhone 5.

    7. Dual LED flashlights. (Possible)

Some rumors leak another optimization of iPhone 5 camera: iPhone 5 will feature with dual LED flashlights for better lighting effects.

    8. The same appearance design as iPhone 4. (Possible)

The appearance design of iPhone 5 should keep the same as that of iPhone 4. There are various rumors on iPhone 5 appearance. Some think it would be just a simple upgrade version of iPhone 4, the appearance staying the same while providing faster processing and larger RAM. Still, some other people think the next iPhone would be called “iPhone 4S”, instead of iPhone 5.

    9. Fully new design. (Unlikely)

Some people think the iPhone 5 would own ultra slim phone body and larger screen, which is the favorite of Apple’s products for every new upgrade.

    10. Enlarge RAM from 32GB to 64GB. (Possible)

People had been anticipating this break on iPhone 4 but finally not satisfied. And now, this anticipation has been changed to iPhone 5. If it comes true, then the iPhone 5 would have two versions: 32GB version and 64GB version, which would result in a price reduction of 16GB iPhone 4.

    11. Near Field Communication Payment. (Much possible)

The NFC technology has been long rumored on the iPhone 5, which would enable users make payment through mobile phones. The NFC chipset would be bounded with Apple account, thus users could easily pay music and apps they purchase from iTunes.

    12. Adopt A5 processor. (Definitely settled)

The iPhone 5 adopts Apple A5 processor could be said to a definitely settled fact, just like the iPad 2. The A5 processor could own twice speed as that of iPhone 4 and much longer battery life.

    13. Built-in antenna for better signal capturing. (Definitely settled)

Apple would not repeat the mistake on antenna. iPhone 5 would feature with built-in antenna or redesigned outlay antenna for better signal capturing.

    14. Release cheap Nano iPhone. (Totally impossible)

Every iPhone upgrade would accompany with cheap Nano iPhone. But some analysts think the cheaper and smaller Nano iPhone would end all cheap Android phones, thus this rumor is absolutely impossible.

    15. Games and videos with 3D effect. (Impossible)

It is impossible for Apple to improve anything related to 3D effect as it would cost so much time and costs. But, still rumors say iPhone 5 would feature with apps and videos with 3D effect.

    16. No glasses on the rear. (Much possible)

This seems to be quite possible. The iPhone 4 glass back produces quite nice sense of touch and secure. Now, some designers say Apple would change the glass back to metal, just like the first iPhone.

    17. To be released in this September. (Maybe)

Apple released no information on WWDC about iPhone 5. So, if Apple releases iPhone 5 in September, it would not be a surprise, yet still not confirmed. The only thing we are sure is that Apple would release new iPhone after the iOS 5 in September.

    18. Feature with mini SIM card. (Impossible)

An European officer from Orange revealed that iPhone 5 would come with a customized smaller SIM card, but the opponents insist iPhone 5 would stay the same as iPhone 4 in phone body.

    19. Compatible with Sprint and T-mobile. (Maybe)

We have got some leaked tests of iPhone on T-mobile. Some analysts think iPhone 5 would also be compatible with Sprint and T-mobile network.

    20. Nuance omnibearing sound control. (Much possible)

The owner of Dragon Dictation, Nuance is one of Apple’s partners, which provides great opportunity for iPhone 5 omnibearing sound control expansion. With the omnibearing sound control system, you could speak your email or message on your iPhone 5, instead of handwriting, just like Android mobile phones.

Well, these are all the rumors popular recently I have collected. Whatever, what your opinion for the Apple iPhone 5? When do you think it would be out and what specs you are expecting for? If you like, you can just share your own opinion below in the comment part.

  • The Next Apple iPhone confirmed to be iPhone 5 and may be released in September on a special Apple event

Posted on June 22nd, 2011 David Brooks No comments

The BGR (Boy Genius Reports) quoted “Reliable” news that the has proved the next Apple iPhone to be confirmed as Apple iPhone 5, rather than little upgraded Apple iPhone 4S. And according to the release date of iPhone 5, the reports said it might be set in Auguest on an unusual Apple event, or late on the annual iPod release conference in September. Upon the recent rumors on iPhone 5 and Apple sell the bare versions of iPhone 4 without subsidies; the latter release date seems to be more reasonable.

    Apple iPhone 5

So far, BGR suggests and confidently says that the phone will have a “radical new case design” with an edge-to-edge full screen display. It will look nothing like the previous iPhone’s and is set to stun Apple fans, according to reports. It also suggests there will be a bigger home screen button and that the back of the phone will be very similar to the iPod Touch with a curved back.

Other reports suggest that the iPhone 5 will run the same ARM A5 1GHz dual-core processor as the famous & popular iPad 2. It will sport an 8-megapixel camera with the ability to shoot 1080p HD video and will have a 720p HD screen.

One thing that is for sure is that the next Apple iPhone 5 would absolutely adopt the iOS 5 operation system, which has been revealed on Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) together with iCloud music service and Mac OS X Lion.

Anyway, these are just our predications towards Apple iPhone 5 and Apple has been keeping silence for all time. In a fast developing electronic market of smart mobile phones with so many new and powerful smart phones emerged quickly one after another, just like Nokia N9 and HTC Kingdom, how long can you wait for Apple iPhone 5?

  • Apple WWDC 2011 Memior: Detailed Features of Mac OS X Lion, Ios 5 and iCloud

Posted on June 7th, 2011 David Brooks No comments

Today, in San Francisco, Apple launched its Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2011 with more than 5000 developers attending. Like so many others not lucky enough to attend this annual conference, I was glued to a number of live blogs reporting on the annual technique feast.

    Apple WWDC 2011

On the WWDC, Steve Jobs made a keynote address, which includes the leading roles of this annual conference, respectively referring to the next version of Mac OS X (“Lion”), the next version of the iPhone/iPad/Touch software (“iOS 5”), and a new online syncing service called iCloud. There are a lot of reports on these three new products right before the launch of WWDC, however, very few detailed information was announced before. After the inauguration ceremony, more detailed features of Lion, iOS 5 and iCloud had been revealed.

Here is a brief summary of detailed features for the three:

The next version of Mac OS X: Lion (Available this July at $29 only through App Store)

WWDC 2011 Mac OS X LionThe next version of Mac OS X (Lion) includes more than 250 new features. Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, gave a short overview of the first three – Multitouch gestures, fullscreen applications, and Mission Control, while Federighi, vice president of OS X software, made a quick demonstration. Other features demonstrated: Launchpad, the iOS-esque application-management tool; Resume, which saves the states of your windows and work on quit; Auto Save and Versions, which offer easy version management control in a Time Machine-like interface; AirDrop, a peer-to-peer Wi-Fi-based network; and an upgraded version of Mail, featuring a three-column interface, conversation view, search suggestions, and color-coding; new Mail function, Built-in FaceTime, etc.

iOS 5: the next version of the iPhone/iPad/Touch software

WWDC 2011 iOS 5Apple senior vice president Scott Forstall covered 10 new features out of the 200 planned for iOS 5, the next iteration of the company’s mobile operating system for Apple devices, including: New Push-Notification system: combines notifications of all apps. More humanized designed. Only a simple click could lead you to check or dismiss notifications; Newsstand: a devoted app for accessing and downloading those periodicals; Twitter: Apple combines Twitter with several functions like camera, map, contacts, etc; Safari: a new feature – Reader, lets you get (and share) all the content of an article, removing navigation, ads, and other content-leaving only the text; and some other new features included in iOS 5 include Reminders, upgraded Camera, Mail (rich text formatting, full-text searching, drag-and-drop address, text composition, and more), PC Free (wireless upgrading), Game Center, iMessage (new message service for all Apple users), etc.

Apple iCloud: new online syncing service

WWDC 2011 iCloudApple iCloud is what MobileMe was intended to be, but better . Steve Jobs made the demonstration for Apple iCloud, which combines the previous MobileMe but is free for Apple users. The iCloud would enable users to sync emails, bookmarks, iBooks, app purchases, song purchases and photos to and among your iOS devices, Macs, PCs and the Web. These have been the default settings and functions of Apple iCloud. Besides these, Apple users would also be provided with an upgraded 5GB mail storage. iTunes iCloud would be tested on iOS 4.3, while the release time is set to be the same as that of Ios 5, both in this July. An additional service was mentioned during Jobs’ demonstration that is called as iTunes Match. For $25 a year, an iTunes Match user will be able to add music not purchased from iTunes to his or her iCloud music collection. The number of songs an iTunes Match subscriber can store is unlimited.

  • Apple Press News: Apple to Unveil Next Generation Software at Keynote Address on Monday, June 6 of WWDC

Posted on June 1st, 2011 David Brooks No comments

Yesterday, Apple has officially released an Apple Press for the upcoming Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). It is reported in this press that Steve Jobs will kick off a keynote address on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. which would include the next generation software of Apple: Mac OS X Lion, Ios 5 and iCloud.

    Apple WWDC 2011

CUPERTINO, California—May 31, 2011—Apple® CEO Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. At the keynote, Apple will unveil its next generation software – Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS® X; iOS 5, the next version of Apple’s advanced mobile operating system which powers the iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®; and iCloud®, Apple’s upcoming cloud services offering.

WWDC will feature more than 100 technical sessions presented by Apple engineers. Mac® developers will see and learn how to develop world-class Mac OS X Lion applications using its latest technologies and capabilities. Mobile developers will be able to explore the latest innovations and capabilities of iOS and learn how to greatly enhance the functionality, performance and design of their apps. All developers can bring their code to the labs and work with Apple engineers. ” – From Apple PR library.

From this keynote address, we could get the info that there is no iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S mentioned here. The previous rumor about the next generation of iPhone to come out on WWDC 2011 could not be true. And we may have the reason to think that this big conference of Apple would mostly focus on software upgrading, rather than hardware releasing.

More info about the Apple WWDC 2011 would be released here.
