• Nokia Lumia 920 vs. Nokia Lumia 900: 5 Big Changes and Improvements in Lumia 920

    As the flagship of Nokia’s Windows Phone 8, Nokia has unveiled Lumia 920 on September 5th event. The new Nokia Lumia 920 has included many wonderful features to attract people’s eyes, including much clearer screen display, more outstanding shooting effect and fluent user experience. During the press event, Nokia has spent a main part of the event on explaining the advanced PureView camera Lumia 920 will feature, by claiming that the Lumia 920 camera could capture five-to-ten times more light than other phone cameras, which makes it better at shooting photos indoors or in low lighting than other smartphones in the market. Well, after the official release, it’s unavoidable for people to make a comparison between Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 900. Today, let’s just make a comparison on these two gadgets to see what indeed they are different, or to say the main differences and improvements of these two models.

    Nokia Lumia 920Thinner phone body: Nokia Lumia 920 continues the appearance design of Lumia 900, only differs in some details like the phone color – Lumia 920 mainly uses bright yellow while Lumia 900 is mostly lake blue. The Lumia 920 also relocates the micro-USB port to the bottom of the phone body. Larger screen display and more powerful configuration weights Lumia 920 up to 185g from the 165g weight of Lumia 900. But the thickness of Lumia 920 is not added due to the improved configurations. Its 10.7mm phone body thickness is a little thinner than Lumia 900.

    PureMotion HD + IPS touchscreen: Nokia Lumia 920 adopts a large 4.5″ PureMotion HD + IPS touchscreen, which is higher intensive, brighter and faster in refreshing screen, etc. The screen resolution reaches up to 1280×768 (WXGA) with 332PPI, even surpassing Apple’s new iPad. The PureMotion technology performs much better in screen reacting. Users could make touch-control operation even wearing gloves.

    PureView camera technology: Though Lumia 920 keeps the 8MP camera just like that of Lumia 900, the PureView camera technology adopted supports to capture five-to-ten times more light than other phone cameras, which means that it could perform better at shooting photos indoors or in low lighting than other smartphones in the market. For better quality in even low light condition, Nokia Lumia 920 also adopts so-called “floating-lens” technology for image stabilization and f/2.0 aperture for low light, cloudy and in-door picture shooting.

    Nokia Lumia 920 vs. Lumia 900Dual-core processor: Aside configuring the latest Windows Phone 8 OS, Nokia Lumia 920 gains smooth user experience also due to the 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor with 1GB of RAM. Meanwhile, Lumia 920 also provides a large memory space at 32GB for users to store data freely.

    Wireless charging: For better battery life, Nokia Lumia 920 also upgrades its battery volume from 1830mAh to 2000mAh, greatly improved using duration of the phone theoretically. As a newly added feature, the support of wireless charging for Lumia 920 makes it more convenient for users to recharge mobile phone battery easily.

    Besides all of these features, the Nokia Lumia 920 will also add the support of NFC, upgrade Bluetooth to V3.1, support to record 1080P full HD video from previous 720P video recording, etc. Compared with Lumia 900, the Lumia 920 could be said to be upgraded comprehensively.
