Green Zone put “hidden facts” of Iraq war on screen
Posted on March 17th, 2010 119,290 views | 2 commentsGreen zone is a military name for a region in central Baghdad where the headquarters of Coalition forces are located after Iraq war. After seven years, the movie Green Zone sends us back to the very beginning of the Iraq war and put the far-fetched reason of US Congress for war under spotlight once again: what is behind the scene of US Congress’s decision for declaring Iraq war?
In the movie, we get to know the story of a Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller, acted by Matt Damon, who is designated to Iraq in the search for Weapons of Massive Destruction. After several fruitless actions and unexpected encounters, he gradually discovers the war is in fact a cover-up for political interest and then decides to turn against the conspiracy.
Whether there is political conspiracy or not, the movie Green Zone boldly takes the risk of assertion to intrigue doubts on the essence of Iraq war. It is at least right about one thing: Iraq does not possess any Weapons of Massive Destruction. Therefore, as logic puts, it could only make sense by some hidden facts known to the deep circle only. Is it a mistake, manipulation or conspiracy? Will the movie lead to a start-from-scratch inspection and justification on Iraq war? Let’s just say things won’t clear out that simply.
One of the highlights of the movie Green Zone is actor Matt Damon, who bears great success in the three sequels of The Bourne Identity. Besides, as some review points out, this is probably the most honest hollywood movie on Iraq war which you won’t regret to see.
Here are some screenshots of the movie Green Zone.
